10 great images captured with smartphones #107

We're back with the 107th post in our special photographic-centric series where we present you with a number of awesome images taken by... well, you (and your cell phones).

So, which picture did you like most last time? The answer is Vladimir Nolic's photo, taken with the Nokia 808 PureView. And a pretty well-deserved first place it is, we should say!

Of course, there are many other incredible images left to be seen. Let's continue with another set of 10 pics, each of which can easily convince even the most professionally-inclined photographer that cell phones are more than a toy in the camera department.

Please note that if your own awesome image is not included here, this doesn't mean that it won't end up on the site. We simply might not have gotten to it yet! So, we urge you to continue following us, as we'll be publishing more of these truly great photos in the following days and weeks.

We'd also like to remind you that you can continue submitting your cool cell phone pics to the following email address:

In order to not miss on all the glory, you also have to mention your name/nickname, as well as the phone you used to take the shots. A nice additional piece of info would be a name or a short description for the image.

With that, we now leave you with our 107th set of favorite photos...

These are all very impressive pictures, especially for some devices being as old as they are.

agreed, older models are still producing competitive results... number 8 from LG 2 is the best

I would have to say that although visually I quite like the 'look' of the shot taken by the iPhone 6. From a photographic perspective however, the most impressive shot would have to be the one done by the z1 compact. To obtain such a sharp 'frozen in time' shot of the water feature in such low light conditions is nothing short of remarkable. It would take a very good photographer to get this result even with a dslr/mirrorless camera. I feel like the nokia 1020 could have had a much better representative for its capabilities. I was surprised that such a good colour rendition was done by the samsung galaxy S II, the photo is simple but tasteful. At the end of the day I have to vote for the Sony z1 compact, we should be voting for the photographer's skills with this poll.

6 is the only one that stands out to me. The rest are "meh".

The Z1 Compact shot is amazing! The iPhone 6 picture is very boring, it's just a leaf covering the sun, and with so much light, any camera which doesn't pick up the same details isn't worth being functional in 2015. The same for the Samsung Zoom and the 5s. The M8 is pretty good in the low light though :o

I like how older models still produce excellent photos, so the most decisive factor is still the user

That first shot is by a pro for sure! With just a tiny bit of cropping it'd be exhibition worthy.
