Apple to unveil iPhone 5S on Sept 10th, plastic iPhone 5C coming in October
Chief executive Tim Cook himself has earlier said that Apple will introduce new products starting in the fall and “across 2014.” Apple generates 70% of its sales from the iPhone and iPad, and it definitely needs a refresh of the lineup to pump up sales this Holiday season.
The plastic iPhone 5C on the other hand will launch in October targeting customers mostly outside the United States and in Europe.
Bloomberg also confirms that the new 9.7-inch iPad will get redesigned to look more like the iPad mini, with narrower side bezels and a similar body shape and buttons. There is still no clarity on whether or not the iPad mini will get a ‘Retina’ resolution display. After Google launched the Nexus 7 with an extremely sharp display, though, the only logical step for Apple is to follow suit.
Analysts once again predict record sales for the new Apple lineup, but amidst stronger competition. Apple’s tablet share dropped to 32% in Q2 2013, down from a commanding 60% a year earlier.

Confusing article. No release with Apple has ever happened on the announcment day.
16. homineyhominey (Posts: 29; Member since: 10 Mar 2011)
For the iPhones and iPads you are correct, but with iPods, they would announce and they would be available that same day.
29. scott5626 (Posts: 49; Member since: 01 Sep 2009)
True but no one here is talking about iPods.

Way to finish up the fanboyism strong Victor "Analysts once again predict record sales for the new Apple lineup..." Yearly refreshes of same ol same ol products being sold to the same loyal group who are getting sick of yearly refreshes means I PREDICT NON RECORD SALES as Apple is losing so much ground in popularity, innovation and quality since Steve Jobs died, it isn't even funny how hard your biased iDevice lover/writers are losing it
6. appleDOESNT.com (Posts: 354; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
and yes, i do realize I am coming on strong lately but this is supposed to be a unbiased website not the cultofapple. For every ridiculous fanboy written article, iCounter, sorry, iCringe like so many at the way Apple articles are being spun here. Write better articles, write with less fanboyism or get blasted by those who don't view technology through the very narrow vision of Apple''s eye
9. good2great (Posts: 952; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
and when you comment on these articles why don't you try to be less of a fanboy...
look at your name dude?! but you criticize a writer for posting news his own way.
13. appleDOESNT.com (Posts: 354; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
The way Apple is handled here is like it's a Apple fan site. That isn't cool in my book. This is NOT a apple fan website, where people go to fanboy up on everything apple. Phone arena should write their articles with less bIOS and is why this site has such opposing forces in the comment section.
Hmmm, maybe that is what they are going for IDK because nearly every article on Apple has a iHappy ending and nearly every article on Android is ripe with backhanded comments >(
20. good2great (Posts: 952; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
though i agree with you,
i feel like they are at least balancing the playing field out.
no matter what/how they write about apple here.
you guys who side with android are going to post negative comments regardless.
A new visitor to this site would think this is cultofandroid just by looking at the comment threads.
Apple is a big business in the mobile world all PA is doing is keeping their reputation high...
either way... there are lots of viewers here that are looking forward to apples new line up and also enjoy a happier tone displayed in some apple articles.

Dude, what in the world are you talking about?! Other than Victor, this is the most pro-Android website I have been to - especially when it comes to it's readers! It's unbelievable how childish all Android users act when an Apple article comes out. You Android fans do nothing but bash and criticize Apple in any way possible - it's pathetic! I mean, hell, look at your user name! There is nothing Victor said in this article that isn't true. You're completely blind and naive if you don't think the new iPhone 5S will be a huge hit, regardless of how "innovative or not" the phone is. Get off your damn Android high horse and give credit when due.
25. good2great (Posts: 952; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
WHERE'S DARKKJEDII WHEN YOU NEED HIM? he's great at putting these android lames in their place...smh
I respect this site because it is pretty quick with posting current information about phones...
but its the dumb comment threads that make it a bad experience.
Sept 10 is the announcement date for Apple's products... what's wrong with this news???
its like they expect everyone to have an android phone... I don't want an android phone.

Somehow I agree with you, I also think pa release too much Apple articles recently... Even the spare part, cook's salary, and cases?
23. Ninetysix (Posts: 929; Member since: 08 Oct 2012)
Must suck getting bullied by someone wearing an Apple shirt while growing up. Hopefully you can find it in your heart to forgive them.
27. darkkjedii (Posts: 7776; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Kinda like how the s4 and note3 were, and are yearly refreshes of the s3 and note2, and every other galaxy phone now look the same? Dude stop being this anti apple fanboy, you're achieving nothing with it. Apple knows what's its doing as a company, grill Cook all you want, but the guy is doing the job, Jobs placed him in to do. You can predict all you want, the rest of us will buy, and enjoy our purchases.
32. appleDOESNT.com (Posts: 354; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
dj, i do not believe you will disagree that to be a Gates or a Jobs and create the empires they did is something a little more special than just picking the next best guy for the job. Those two are one-of-a-kinds and geniuses. There are very few individuals on earth like Gates and Jobs and they certainly are not Cook and Balmer. No reasonable person would say otherwise IMO
Now with that said, Cook may do much better than Balmer in the long run cause that guy basically ran MS into the ground the last decade or so :(

So Apple is just taking parts from their other tablet but can't design something new? I think Apple need too hire some new ENGINEER that doesn't make their Ipads or Iphone look the same every year.

They believe this is an iconic™ design®
Like Ferrari™® Lamborghini® Porsche®
8. drdwr (Posts: 6; Member since: 22 Jul 2013)
I don't think so. As Troll says - whether you like Apple or not - their designs are iconic and instantly recognisable. The designs are clearly popular (and widely copied), and I am interested to know what you think is so wrong that they should change?
(Trying to have a proper discussion, not just a flame war.)
11. appleDOESNT.com (Posts: 354; Member since: 19 Nov 2011)
i agree and iOS6 and before was iconic. imo iOS7 is going to be a big blow to what is Apple to people. Skeuomorphism and a similar looking and functioning OS for all these years made Apple great, instantly recognizable, easy to use and original (all very big reasons why Apple is easier to use and totally stood out from Android).
They didn't need to dump the look, just modernize it a bit (Skeuomorphism rocks imo and a zillion Applefans iKnow agree). Again, IMO Jobs would never of let iOS7 happen and Jobs was Apple and while yes I am guessing at that, sorry, no chance, never would he of let iOS7 happen! or the plastic C for that matter, no chance!
15. drdwr (Posts: 6; Member since: 22 Jul 2013)
Yes - at risk of wishing for the return of Scott Forstall! - I think it's nice to use yellow notepaper for notes, or a compass that looks like a ship's compass.
I can see the argument for cleaning and tidying the interface - a bit like the leap from Windows 95 to Vista - but I cannot see the logic in icons like "photos" or "games center". They don't represent anything - I guess they were done at 4:55pm on a Friday.
I think a lot of the appeal of Apple is that they stick with good designs and provide long-term support. My three-year-old iPhone 4 will get most of iOS 7, whereas my Sony Xperia handsets were always stuck in limbo until a minor update would address some of the bugs at launch.
18. InspectorGadget80 (Posts: 5173; Member since: 26 Mar 2011)
@ drdw I know its a iconic design. But when a average consumer that buys a iPad after owning the 1st or 2nd most of them won't know the difference. That's the only thing.
36. Napalm_3nema (Posts: 438; Member since: 14 Jun 2013)
You don't even read what you have typed before you hit "Post Reply," do you? The two best selling tablets on the market are the iPad and iPad Mini, and the knock against the full-sized iPad was that it is slightly oversized and overweight. They got it right on the Mini the first time, with thin bezels and lightweight, so of course the full-sized iPad would be subjected to some of those design choice in a bid to improve ergonomics. That's called "common sense," and you should become familiar with it at some point in your life.

Looking forward to the new iP5s™
Wonder what the new iPad5 will have...
400 + Ppi
New PowerVrSgx Rouge 6series Gpu, or will have 6 or 8x Pvrsgx554Mp6, Mp8
A7" Cpu at 1.8Ghz...
17. g2a5b0e (Posts: 1387; Member since: 08 Jun 2012)
No chance the new iPad will have 400+ ppi. It will more than likely keep the same resolution of the last two, which isn't a bad thing.
5. Droid_X_Doug (Posts: 4728; Member since: 22 Dec 2010)
@scott, took the words out of my mouth. Ship date is usually 10 - 14 days after announcement date.
10. ViBRATOt49 (Posts: 17; Member since: 06 Aug 2009)
if you like cars, I just want a rivalry like an Evo vs an STi. apple vs android. I have had one android in my life 6 years ago, and haven't switched from an iPhone since. I'm just getting bored with the iPhone now, I feel left behind. I'm not a fanboy or know any specs, I'm just being real, I see more women and 3 year olds with iPhones cause it's so basic. no offense ladies.
14. bucky (Posts: 1096; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
Use an s4 for 24 hours. You will come running back. Iphone is boring but id take boring over lag and crashing any day.
19. homineyhominey (Posts: 29; Member since: 10 Mar 2011)
The S4 and the entire Galaxy line now are pretty much bug free. I have had my S3 for a year, and have had zero issues with it at all. I download app after app and my phone doesn't freeze at all. I know I'm considered lucky, but honestly, I have seen so many issues with the iPhones as well. They have Genius bars with huge wait times for a reason.
26. bucky (Posts: 1096; Member since: 30 Sep 2009)
You are absolutely correct. I actually liked my time with the galaxy s3. As of right now my s4 can't play music and browsing the Web at the same time without lagging.

Apple isn't just going to release a higher resolution iPad mini just because the Nexus 7 did. It doesn't work that way. I am pretty positive that they will not release a retina mini until they can can get the iPad 3/4 resolution into a 7.9 inch screen. Whether or not that is now I do not know but if I were to guess, I don't think they can do it yet without making the iPad mini fat.
Apple has always stuck to their standards that make App development, their bread and butter, effortlessly across all platforms. The only way they can do that is by using resolutions that scale perfectly from one platform to the other. They are not going to just break that trend just for the Nexus 7. Especially after how successful the iPad mini and all the low red Samsung tablets have been. Not to mention the fact that they kept the iPad 2 and mini low res and those are their two most successful tablets.
Apple reuses the resolution at least twice. IPad 1 and 2 are the same and the iPad 3 and 4. I wouldn't expect a retina mini.

What should be interesting is to see how Anandtech and the Verge suck on Apple's cock. Anadtech already claimed that it was the most accurate display ever right after Apple got smoked in PPI. It should be interesting to see what they can possibly champion as being more important just so they can claim Apple still makes the best screen. Should be good to see how far they can reach. LOL Good times.
I don't see the iPad 5 screen changing much either.
