9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 5 coming soon?
Last month, we told you that Samsung was working on a new tablet - SM-T555 - that should be included in its upcoming Galaxy Tab 5 series. Now, thanks to a fresh listing found at Zauba (a website that tracks India's imports and exports), we can see that the SM-T555 seems to sport a 9.7-inch display - which, of course, would be something new for Samsung.

Unfortunately, at the moment there aren't too many details about the new tablet. However, we could speculate that, like Apple's 9.7-inch iPad Air, the screen of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab may have a 4:3 aspect ratio, instead of the 16:9 one that Samsung's been using until now.

In addition to the 9.7-inch SM-T555, it's said that Samsung should also launch a 7-inch Galaxy Tab 5. Looking at last year's Galaxy Tab 4 line-up, we'd also expect an 8-inch model to arrive.

There is no word on when Samsung is planning to announce these new tablets. It could happen pretty soon, though, as the company hasn't unveiled any new slates since June last year.

What's up with the new 4:3 craze? Widescreen is just fine...

16:9 isn't as good for portrait use
But 4:3 is too narrow for games and videos
IMO 3:2 is a better compromise, e.g. Surface Pro 3

What the hell is it with the 9.7" screen size? Why couldn't they just make it straight 10"???

Please stop with that crap. It lags for you because you hate and crap on every Android article. It doesn't matter if its Samsung or any other Android article. Move along. You must feel good to spread your hate.

That was quite harsh lol but please keep in mind that I love android. I just really would like Samsung to strip down touchwiz so that their awesome devices are pleasantly usable.

You know what? You guys might be right. It will probably drop frames, and it could even delay for half a second or more when launching an app. One might even conclude that a tablet from a different brand is better than this upcoming device from Samsung.

But this deal of running into every article and bashing phones/tablets (which, by the way, you haven't even seen yet) is tiresome and immature. I mean, I know I'm probably just throwing out troll food here, but sheesh, dude, really?

Remove Touchwiz install Cynogen or whatever else you feel like, Then you have great hardware and a non lag system.

Hopefully they keep the price low on this next generation of tablets.

16:10 ratio is the best IMO. I've watched a ton of movies on my Galaxy Tab S. I would never buy a 4:3 tablet. I will be waiting for the next 12.2 tablet to see whether I upgrade or not.
