Samsung Brightside is now official, coming on Verizon next month
Well, it looks like the rumors were not mistaken. The Samsung Brightside for Verizon was just announced officially and is set to launch on March 1. However, don't get too excited about the device as it is nothing but a feature phone.

The Samsung Brightside is equipped with a 3.1-inch touchscreen display. One of its main selling points is the slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, which makes the device suitable for heavy texters and social network users. You also get a pretty basic 3.2-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. 3G connectivity is in tow, along with Facebook and Twitter clients, and a document viewer application.

And if you are curious about pricing, the Samsung Brightside will cost you $99 after a $50 rebate along with a 2-year contract, which frankly seems a bit too steep for a feature phone. If anyone is thinking about checking the handset anyway, it will be available both online and at Verizon outlets.

That price is a joke..VZW should be ashamed of themselves. Watch the price drop like a rock when they receive little interest and sales for this phone.

Despite the $99.00 cost AFTER rebate, I'll still be purchasing this phone tomorrow. This is the closest I'll get to a nice basic phone and I don't mind too much because I'm not going to be paying $30.00 every month for years on a smartphone that I wouldn't be using much data anyways. Would the price of the phone really drop much? I'd be willing to wait a couple months but any longer I'd just pay the benjamin.

Love this phone! I wanted something simple; not a smart phone. It had a lot of unexpected features like an spot for an SD card for my audiobooks and music, a great size screen and text I can easily read. LOVE IT!
