Well, it looks like the rumors were not mistaken. The Samsung Brightside for Verizon was just announced officially and is set to launch on March 1. However, don't get too excited about the device as it is nothing but a feature phone.
The Samsung Brightside
is equipped with a 3.1
-inch touchscreen display. One of its main selling points is the slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, which makes the device suitable for heavy texters and social network users. You also get a pretty basic 3.2
-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. 3G connectivity is in tow, along with Facebook and Twitter clients, and a document viewer application.
And if you are curious about pricing, the Samsung Brightside will cost you $99 after a $50 rebate along with a 2-year contract, which frankly seems a bit too steep for a feature phone. If anyone is thinking about checking the handset anyway, it will be available both online and at Verizon outlets.
