New studies say that cellphone radiation will probably not kill you
Two government studies conducted by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) have concluded that cellphone radiation will most likely not send you to your grave. But to be safe, it is wise to use common sense and take certain precautions. The studies used mice who were exposed to radio frequency radiation (RFR), like the type that is emitted from cellphones and microwave ovens. "If there is a risk, it is small," said the NTP's senior scientist Dr. John Bucher.

The mice who were exposed to RFR were in the same health as those who were not exposed, and some of those who were dosed with the radiation ended up living longer. Dr. Bucher still suggests that cellphone users reduce exposure by not jamming their handsets against their ears. The Doctor pointed out that this "dramatically reduces your radiation exposure. Cellphone radiation diminishes dramatically with distance." It is also suggested that handsets be placed some distance away when users lay down to sleep. Dr. Bucher did say that there still is a case to be made for a human to be hurt by cellphone radiation under "high exposure conditions."

Cellphone technologies are overseen in the U.S. by the SEC and the FDA. Speaking of the latter, the agency reviewed the studies and said, "The current safety limits for cellphones are acceptable for protecting the public health."
