BlackBerry Slider, aka "T" or "Talladega" to be launched next month?
The mysterious BlackBerry slider that we have showed you pictures of has captured the attention of both BlackBerry and cellphone fans alike. The handset, code named "T" or "Talladega", is apparently the famous Mr. T model that we have had the pleasure of informing you about from time to time. If loose lips sink ships, the CEO of RIM parts supplier Woojeon & Handan has sent the Titanic to a watery grave. On a Korean news site called Joins.com, the executive said that RIM was about to launch an ambitious model to compete with the iPhone on a global basis. The "T" will become the flagship model for BlackBerry. This was translated from the original Korean, but no matter what language it is said in, the bottom line is that RIM has apparently conceded that the Storm was not the iPhone slaying device that the Canadian manufacturer and Verizon had hoped it would be when originally dreamed up. The good news is that RIM has learned a lot from the Storm debacle and by combining what is good about the touchscreen Storm with the positive features from the Bold (including that fantastic physical QWERTY keyboard), RIM could be offering the best of both worlds. Add in RIM's newly found desire to make the 'Berry an all around handset for business and pleasure (don't forget that new WebKit browser coming!), and we might end up having to pity the fool who won't buy one.
