BLU is updating 10 smartphones to Android Lollipop, including the Vivo Air and Studio Energy

BLU is far from being a major smartphone manufacturer, and yet it's been making quite a few headlines lately, thanks to its affordable handsets (running either near-stock Android, or Windows Phone).

Now, BLU is in the news again, as it announced Lollipop updates for no less than 10 of its handsets that currently run Android 4.4 KitKat.

The first BLU smartphones to get Android Lollipop are the Studio X and Studio X Plus (pictured on the left). Their owners should expect to receive the update starting today. Later this month, the BLU Studio G, BLU Star 4.5, and BLU Studio 6.0 HD will also be updated. Finally, July will bring Lollipop to the following handsets: BLU Life One, BLU Life One XL, BLU Vivo Air, BLU Life Pure XL, and BLU Studio Energy.

All BLU smartphones can be bought unlocked from Amazon. Two of the most interesting models are the 5.1mm-thin Vivo Air ($199), and the Studio Energy ($149), which offers a massive 5000 mAh battery.

I haven't found anything wrong with the memory size in my Energy. Are you speaking of the internal memory or the RAM amount?

My 3GB RAM phone shows 1.8GB Free currently, so it is using over 1GB and i'm not really running much. I think 1GB RAM is a bit low, yes. Settings - Apps - Running to see RAM usage. 8GB is also low for long term storage also. As another example (Settings - Storage) my 64GB long term storage phone shows 54.65GB Total Space and 48.50GB Available. 1GB RAM and 8GB Storage could work for you but I think it would be limiting to me.

Why isn't the Studio 5.0 C HD getting Lollipop?

I received my notification about the update today (on my Blu Studio X Plus). I couldn't update at the time because on wasn't on wi-fi. Now I am and I can't find where to update anywhere. How do I start the update without the notification screen. Please help!

Found it, rather simple actually. It's under About Device in your your Settings menu, all the way at the bottom.

Picked up the Studio G this past month. Not the best phone in its class, but at $99 unlocked, I can't complain too much. It's far ahead of my old Atrix HD in terms of overall performance and battery life, though the lack of RAM can be noticeable at times. Still no root method from what I'm least Lollipop is on the way for these devices.

Just recently purchased the top-of-the-line Blu Studio 6.0 LTE with 1920x1080p HD screen, 16GB with 64GB expandable micro SD card, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, Dual SIM capability with 4G LTE & 3G HSPA+ 42 Mbps and 13MP back & 5MP front camera. But I feel it's been assed out as it only comes with KitKat 4.4.2 with no news whether it'll receive Lollipop 5.0. I am pleading to Blu to push the upgrade on this phone because it's so beautifully powerful.
