Asus confirms it's working on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Asus ZenFone 2 series
Asus has recently announced that five of its smartphones will receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. These phones are the Asus ZenFone 2, the Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe / Special Edition, the ZenFone 2 Laser, the ZenFone Selfie and the Asus Padfone S.

Unfortunately for some, this announcement means that if your Asus phone wasn't mentioned in the previous sentence, then it most likely will not get the update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

While Nexus smartphone owners are already enjoying their fix of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, those who don't have a modern vanilla Android phone still have some waiting to do before using the latest version of the OS. The official announcement, made on the company's forums, makes no mention of a potential release date for the update. Furthermore, the announcement is also lacking in terms of what features (if any) fo expect on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

6.0 Marshmallow, the latest version of Android, comes with numerous improvements over the Lollipop variants of the OS. The new features include a more granular app permission system, a beefed up version of Google Now, native support for fingerprint readers, extended support for microSD cards, as well as many others. For a full roundup of the new features present in the latest version of Android, make sure to read our full Android 6.0 Marshmallow review.

What do you guys think of this announcement from Asus? Is your phone listed among those scheduled to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update?
