Cancelled Microsoft Mercury tablet allegedly pictured

Cancelled Microsoft Mercury tablet allegedly pictured
Last month, we learned that Microsoft recently developed a Surface Mini tablet, only to cancel its release, as the company believed that it would not be a commercial success. Now, we're hearing about another cancelled tablet, and we can also take a look at it - thanks to a couple of renders revealed by @evleaks.

While we don't know much about this tablet, it's reportedly called Microsoft Mercury. As you can see in the images below, the Mercury slate kind of looks like a giant Lumia smartphone (we're not exactly sure this is a good thing). There's no word on the features of the Microsoft Mercury, but a camera is clearly visible on the back. We can also spot a front-facing camera, and (if we adjust the contrast a little bit) a pair of speakers at the bottom.

We assume that the Microsoft Mercury was a tablet with a screen of around 7-8 inches (judging by the fact that it appears to be a portrait-oriented device), thus being significantly smaller than a Surface. Or maybe the Surface Mini and the Mercury are (were) one and the same device? Well, we might never find out.

Microaoft has a group that designs and tests products. This one failed to make the grade. Microsft does need to sell a Tablet that cost under 500 dollars. so when a person goes to the Microsoft online store or a Microsoft brick and motor store they have a Microsoft designed 250 to 350 dollar Tablet that low income People, College student's ect can afford to BUY ! The Surface 3 cost 499 dollars but is not priced in the sweet spot for tablets which is 250 to 350 dollar range that low income folks can save up and buy.

The microsoft store has to have lower priced tablets to reach full market share. wwhich should include low income folks. Microsoft says they want to help low income folks come up but does not sell a cheap enough tablet of their own design to help low income people have a good tool to do so. The Surface 3 is good but still cost 500 dollars for low income folks that price is TOO HIGH. Hmm Maybe MS should make a Polycarbonate case Atom CPU tablet that looks just like the Surface 3 with ba ck kick stand and comes in colors but has the tech specs of the Surface 3. sell this device for 350 for low income folks
