According to reports from those who own the device, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi model is finally getting updated from Honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich. The tablet had been sitting with Android 3.0 since its launch last Fall and owners of the device could only sit back and watch as the Korean manufacturer first updated the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1. The fact that the Samsung GALAXY Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi is the beneficiary of an update should not be surprising to those who read our story in July, listing the tablet as among those that would be receiving Ice Cream Sandwich from Samsung.
The 313MB update can be installed OTA or for those who like to make easy things difficult, you can access it by hooking up to a PC and using Samsung Kies. Besides all of the goodies that come with Android 4.0, the update bring you a new and improved TouchWiz to run over the updated Android OS on your tablet.

Wohooo! Over a half year passed and the Galaxy Tab gets the kinda-of-up-to-date Android ICS!!!
Don't buy Samsungs, guys.

Or you can buy what you like & be happy about, while keeping your nose out of what everyone else is buying.
