Samsung will sell the Gear VR via Best Buy brick and mortar stores, demo units to be available to ev
Samsung's Gear VR virtual reality headset has been available in the US since the end of last year, but for now there's only one way to purchase it: online. According to SamMobile, starting February 8 Samsung will bring the Gear VR to 100 select Best Buy stores across the US, thus allowing interested customers to test the device (something that's very hard to do at the moment).

Reportedly, 3-minute demos will be offered to those wanting to try the Gear VR, including four "key demos": a video, TheBlu game, the Transformers movie, and 360-degree photos. Each demo unit will come with two Galaxy Note 4 handsets - when one is in use, the other one is charging, so there will always be a functional Note inside the Gear VR. It's said that there will be some rules that Best Buy employees, as well as customers, must obey. For example, you have to sit in a chair if you want to test the Gear VR, and you must be at least 13 years old. If it gets enough positive feedback, Samsung intends to expand the availability of the Gear VR to more stores.

Besides the Note 4, the upcoming Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge are also expected to support the Gear VR. Currently, the headset costs $199, and that's also the price that you'll have to pay in Best Buy's stores.

As reported not long ago, those who had the chance to test the Gear VR were impressed. Our own experience with the Gear VR was also pretty cool.

Meanwhile, Samsung Tomorrow (one of Samsung's official blogs) unboxed the Gear VR and posted lots of photos. Check them out, and visit the blog at the source link below for more.
