Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are getting security updates (on T-Mobile and Verizon)
T-Mobile USA today started rolling out the very first software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, mentioning that these are "security updates." Most likely, they include the March security patch that Google's Nexus devices and BlackBerry's Priv already received. Interestingly, it looks like these don't include the March security patch.

Following the update - which can hit your T-Mobile Galaxy S7 over the air any time now - the Android version remains 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but the Baseband version changes from G930TUVU1APB6 to G930TUVU1APB8 on the regular Galaxy S7, and from G935TUVU1APB6 to G935TUVS2APB8 on the S7 edge.

Tomorrow, March 18, Verizon will start rolling out a similar security update to its Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. We assume that AT&T and Sprint Galaxy S7 owners will soon get this update as well. As always, you can manually check if the update is ready for your Galaxy S7 handset by going to Settings ->About device -> Software update.

As you probably know, Samsung's new flagship smartphones are available to buy since earlier this month. You can take a closer look at them and their features by checking out our Galaxy S7 review and our Galaxy S7 edge review.

By the way, is anyone else surprised about Touch Force ID isn't included? I was expecting that.

He is talking about the force touch thats on the iphone 6s/6s plus! Not every "feature" thats on the iPhone needs to be on Samsung devices...

I am not "surprised" at all - it's not that important to have...

LOL, OK, just wondering because it was kinda hype a few months ago. Some articles suggest there will be more Android phones come with force touch feature.

Force touch is useless and I use 6s plus. You won't even notice it's there.

And it'll take ONLY 5 more months before it gets to the S6/S5...
