Verizon Wireless and Verizon Airfone offers In-Flight Calls

Verizon wireless and Verizon Airfone announced it is teaming today to offer discounted in-flight calls for Verizon Wireless customers. For just 10 cents-a-minute Verizon customers can make and receive calls while in flight when they sign up for the new Airfone Service for Verizon Wireless $10 monthly subscription plan or 69 cents-a-minute with no subscription. The access to JetConnect and JetGazette are also discounted. JetConnect, the service that provides text messaging and instant messaging, normally billed at $5.99 per flight segment, is only $10 per month and gives unlimited use. The significantly discounted service is America's Choice^SM plan, a standard Airfone voice call is $3.99 per minute, plus $3.99 to set up. Travellers can activate the feature in flight by following the instructions that will be included on every Verizon Airfone handset.

This service will be available to Ohio customers in April and to Michigan customers in June.
