Today may be Google’s 20th birthday but even that isn’t enough to stop the overwhelming number of Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaks. And the latest scoop, which comes courtesy of MySmartPrice, is actually a pretty big one as it reveals a bunch of marketing images and even a video that have been designed to showcase the device features.

As expected, the images confirm that the new devices will run stock Android 9 Pie straight out of the box and will use the new gesture-based interface by default. This will allow users to swipe up once on the home screen to upon up the recent apps page, and a second time to take a look at the app drawer. While on the topic of swiping, pulling down from the topic will display the notification panel and the quick settings toggles – this can also be accessed by swiping down on the rear fingerprint scanner.

As with last year’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, the new Pixel 3 series will also feature the Active Edge feature that will allow users to open up the Google Assistant by squeezing the device. Alternatively, this can be used to trigger a different action of the user’s choice. Other hardware features include tap to wake and the ability to open the camera app by double pressing the power button. Speaking of the camera, a double twist of the wrist will switch between the front and rear sensors.

In general, it’s fair to say that the software experience lines up with expectations. After all, stock Android 9 Pie is already available on the Pixel 2 lineup anyway. On a separate note, though, the fact that Google has used the regular Pixel 3 in the material rather than the larger XL model does suggest that it is aware of its design mistakes.
