LG Q Stylus goes official and it's coming to the U.S. this month

It looks like LG is “Q-ing” all its smartphones regardless of their price tier. After recently unveiling its new high-end smartphones, the G7 ThinQ and V35 ThinQ, LG is now bringing a mid-range handset to the US – the Q Stylus.

Although it's a mid-range smartphone, LG says it has added some premium features to the phone to differentiate it from other mid-end handsets. The South Korean company also states that, depending on the market, the LG Q Stylus will be available in one or more configurations: Q Stylus+, Q Stylus, and Q Stylus α.

As their names suggest, all these Q Stylus variants come with a stylus that's supposed to add “more convenience and functionality beyond the typical keyboard experience.” Apparently, the Q Stylus can recognize and record handwritten notes, even when the display is off.

Moreover, the phone's stylus can be used to personalize captured images and videos to create animated GIFs. But the stylus is not the only premium feature the LG Q Stylus offers.

LG has also included an advanced camera (8MP front camera and 16MP rear lens), which features PDAF (phase detection autofocus), and Portrait Mode. Surprisingly, the Q Stylus includes the same advanced DTS:X found in the V and G series for up to 7.1 channel 3D surround when listening with earphones.
