Deal: Sony Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus get a $100 discount at Best Buy

Sony announced last month that it has decided to merge its mobile division with its camera, TV and audio business to avoid showing negative numbers each financial quarter. Unfortunately, the merger might come with a wave layoffs, as the mobile division is expected to lose half its staff by 2020.

Even so, that doesn't mean the Sony stopped making smartphones, and the company's latest devices seem quite decent for the price you pay. The Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus went on sale in the United States about a month ago, and those who were among the first to order them were also offered $100 discounts.

Best Buy is running a similar promotion these days, so if you're looking for an Xperia smartphone but can't afford to buy a flagship, the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus are solid alternatives.

If you want to benefit from the $100 discount, you'll have to activate the smartphone with Verizon, otherwise, you'll have to pay the full price. You could also activate either of the two Xperia devices with AT&T, but then you would only get a $50 discount.

All in all, the unlocked Xperia 10 is now available at Best Buy for as low as $250, while the Xperia 10 Plus costs $350, but these prices require activation with Verizon, so keep that in mind.
