I wonder how the L920 would fare against a dedicated camera - like maybe the Sony RX100?
15. Nathan_ingx posted on 19 Dec 2012, 06:50 0 3
This is an image stabilization test...another great thing the 920 is supposed to do.
808 will surely win the test had been for details...
Details, colors and such will be much better of course on the RX100 (defeats the purpose of it being a dedicated camera if the 920 be better). But i can't say anything about the image stabilization...920 might out-perform it.

Is it just me, or are the trees, all of 'em, look 3D?!?

That would only be a fair test if you then tried to make a call with the RX100, and give out points for call quality too... or surf the net....oruse it as a turn-by-turn nagiation tool... or... you get the idea. :)

Once Nokia combine these two camera phones and release it with WP8 or WP9, no other camera phone will be able to compete! Nokia Lumia 1000 series!

Wish they'd had a pro camera as comparison. The colors and light levels were (as expected) different, and while I would guess the 808 to be the more natural, I'd want to see just how these two compare.
27. Droid_X_Doug posted on 19 Dec 2012, 12:20 1 1
Pro camera (like say, the Canon D5 Mark III) might be overkill (sensor, lens, processing, etc.). But comparing to a high end point-and-shoot like the RX100 would seem to be fair game. If the L920 scored even a close 2nd, that would be impressive given the other functions (texting, e-mail, phone, LTE, etc.) included with the L920.

OIS is great but the color reproduction on L920 is BS.

If Nokia chosed Android they would be on top of the world now, great camera.

I wouldn't buy it too!!!
i tried Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, SG SII,HTC Sensation & SG SIII..
and faced too many problems like (slowness, freezes, Calls hanging, disappearance of some features like (Paste), etc........)
Though WP8 is a new OS, it's still more stable than Android.
17. SIGPRO posted on 19 Dec 2012, 07:23 11 2
Stop it already about if Nokia chose Android then....., Please stop it Nokia did not chose Android and i hope they never do. Android is not the best os, and it even sucks in my opinion. I will never buy a android device again. After my ICS device no more android for me it is laggy and slow! And please stop if you were gonna say oh but JB has project butter!
I am glad Nokia went for WP, but Meego was better!
28. darac posted on 19 Dec 2012, 13:00 1 13
Which "ICS device"?
If WP8 is so efficient, how come it requires a dual core processor?
If android is resource consuming in comparison, how come JB run on a single core 800MHz?
If JB sucks, how come all the REVIEWERS ARE ALWAYS FULL OF PRAISE ??
You android haters are just such idiots it's unbelievable.
Period

mate your been a mad little android fanboy, you only ever defend android never call others if they say crap about other os's infact you cheer them on.
second so if jb can run on a single core 800MHz whats the excuses for 2011 phones etc not getting an update? why is androids update history a shambles? and no i dont hate android but this is just facts.
second wp8 efficiently runs on dual core processor, the key word been ''effiently'' jb wont be as efficient on a single core and the custom roms are the full package before you fall back on them

Pot, meet kettle!
I said replying to you is a waste of time because you're the greatest hypocrite of all.
Have you EVER reacted on the persistent pack of Samsung and android haters here?
Said anything towards the pile of "Nokia perfect, Samsung plastic piece of junk ", "android laggy buggy ugly unstable insecure crap" comments made by the cult crowd of Nokia?
Update history?
Lol, pot.
Tell me when will Lumia 900 get updated to windows 7.8?
How about WP 8?
Many android phones have went through official 3 complete OS releases (Xperia X10 from 1. 6 to 2. 3.. Galaxy S2 from 2. 3 to 4. 1) - and those are brand releases, not even showing you the Nexus!!
I'm angry you say?
Well I have a low tolerance on people' stupidity, bias and ignorance.
And I just notice some Nokia fans happen to be the worst of all, when it comes to phones.
33. chaoticrazor posted on 19 Dec 2012, 15:12 6 1
lmao haha your so one sided and delusional its unreal, ive defended android and samsung, htc,lg, motorola from apple trolls alot more then you ever have little boy. diferance is im not closed minded and think only android is needed like you, differance is im open to choice. you just sit there and blindly defend android when the slightest negative thing is said. if its not blind praise for android your having a little cry and showing your true fanboy self.
mate you cant class the nexus in this as thats its main selling point. i also love the fact you android loyalists slate apple for having one phone and been restricted to it yet now your all shoving it down peoples throat that if you want android go nexus its the only way....hmmm so the nexus is the iphone of android right? dont answer you will only mouth off fanboy crap
''Well I have a low tolerance on people' stupidity, bias and ignorance''
made me laugh this did, first who are you to judge others when there comments are pretty spot on. you just cant handle anything bad against android your the other side of the same coin as those apple fanatics. both as bad as each other.
''And I just notice some Nokia fans happen to be the worst of all, when it comes to phones.''
this honestly made me lmao your showing your ignorance here. its plain to see the android fans are the worst right now, P.A had to do a whole article on bias because you lot were moaning.
and i live in reality i dont think nokia or google or samsung or apple care about me lol they all want money.
whatever you wanna try and pull from nothing atleast im more open minded then you

ANSWER OR SHUT THE HELL UP:
- Have you ever addressed the ultimate crap coming from NOKIA cult?
- When will Lumia 900..or any WP handset from last year for that matter, get a WP 8?
- Which part of my brand phones example didn't got through your unbelievably thick scull??!?
HUH?
You are yet to learn to read?
36. chaoticrazor posted on 19 Dec 2012, 19:43 2 2
haha your trying your hardest to deflect the issue arent you
first of the only nokia fanboy ive seen go over the top is that wp8forever and yeah i called him on it awhile ago. second do they wont get wp8 but there getting w7.8. you as a android fanboy cant talk down to others about updates. you have no high ground to stand on. and before you go root it , thats a work around not a feature.
but mainly and its shines through your just some kid thinking he knows it all and is better then others just because of what you choose to use. you havent addressed anything in my comment and then have the cheek to say i didnt read yours
pathetic mate, you should go join the other fanboys and high five each other as thats all you have in your closed little world

When Android just started I tried one and that one lags. Tried and SG3 and still notice some lag, so a better name should be lagDroid.
42. Nathan_ingx posted on 20 Dec 2012, 10:23 2 0
Darac, i can't help but i have to reply to this "If WP8 is so efficient, how come it requires a dual core processor? If android is resource consuming in comparison, how come JB run on a single core 800MHz?"
Why isn't JB update coming to phones with 800Mhz??
Try packing a bag that fits 7kgs with 5kgs of clothes and try packing the same bag with 8kgs of clothes. Which bag can you zip it without hassle? Of course, you know even if you don't do it practically.
How many times has Android updated since they first featured on a phone? Countless times...and if by this time it hasn't improved it's system, what's the use?
WP updates slow, but at least it tries to make it, not perfect but absolute.
Your argument doesn't make sense.

Android required a multi-core processor and a high RAM memory, there is still not a phone can perfect Android OS yet, even SGS3 or LGN7!!!
21. gazmatic posted on 19 Dec 2012, 08:29 8 2
meego, maemo> android
these are truly open
my n900 had a FULL VERSION of windows xp installed
my n9 got ice cream sandwich BEFORE dedicated android devices while android phones were still stuck on gingerbread
my n9 got jelly bean BEFORE my gs3
android sucks...
it is laggy, buggy, not optimized AT ALL, eats memory like nothing
meego was the true blue mobile os
even now I'm very confident that my n9 will get key lime pie BEFORE my gs3
32. darac posted on 19 Dec 2012, 15:10 1 5
It may suck compared to those two OS-s, or better said, compared to their kernel.
But tell me why us army picked it then?
Why NASA picked it? Lol
It doesn't suck generally speaking.
You are WAY out of line.
IOS is just as "laggy and buggy", yet being far less capable and flexible, for example.
And WP8 eats up more space and memory but uses tricks such as semi multitasking to hide that.
Get your facts straight.
BTW.. I really have no issues at all with JB on S3.
It's beautifully smooth and stable!
Just avoid sideloaded apps
44. jameshoe posted on 20 Dec 2012, 19:51 0 0
someone bulls**t and reject the fact, right?
I switch to Lumia because I know Android required quad-core processor and 1GB RAM at least!!!!
WP and IOS will only need a dual-core processor and 512 MB RAM and that's enough
23. -box- posted on 19 Dec 2012, 09:45 1 1
If Nokia had gone Android you'd still have store reps pushing for the Galaxies because they're more well-established. Also, google didn't offer Nokia any transition money, and it would have been more difficult to convert. Better they stayed with MeeGo than go Android, but better going WP for their mainstream models than trying to push MeeGo to developers and customers alike.
39. Alex123 posted on 20 Dec 2012, 02:16 1 0
I think so. Elop is a smart guy, if he switches to Android so Nokia might need to pay to Apple too like Samsung and HTC. I also want to see Nokia use Android. I am sure Nokia can share most percentage of Market share if Nokia use both Android and WP OS
