Manual update for the HTC DROID ERIS

*PHONEARENA DOES NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR PHONE
DOING THE MANUAL ROM UPDATE FOR THE HTC DROID ERIS. IF YOU DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT IN DOING
IT, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE OTA DOWNLOAD*
Earlier this week Verizon started an OTA update for the Motorola DROID, but a day later the update was leaked and could be installed manually without having to wait around. Then today Verizon began their OTA update for the HTC DROID ERIS, and once again, the update file was leaked. The main difference here is that if you manually upgrade your HTC DROID ERIS, it is a FULL ROM FIRMWARE FLASH, not an in-line update, which will remove all your settings and programs, and returning the phone to a factory state. After of which you will have to reactivate your phone (*228) and reinstall your program and settings. Because of this, most DROID ERIS owners should wait for the OTA version, as it will keep your settings and programs intact. But if you are feeling adventurous and want to do the firmware flash yourself, here is the file and instructions.
