Tim Cook says pre-order sales for Apple Watch are
Apple CEO Tim Cook, visiting an Apple Store in California on Friday afternoon, told financial cable channel CNBC that pre-order sales for the Apple Watch are great and that consumers' reaction to the timepiece has been "extraordinary." Cook also showed reporters his favorite model, a stainless steel Apple Watch with a white band.

The Apple Watch was available for pre-orders starting at 3:01am EDT (12:01am PDT) today. The latest device from Apple starts at $349 for the Apple Watch Sport and runs as high as $17,000 for the Rose Gold Apple Watch Edition. "Customers have been giving us great feedback and orders have been great, as well," said Apple's CEO.

The Watch sold out within hours once pre-orders were accepted. The device starts shipping on April 24th, but already there are delays with some models not expected to arrive until July-August.

As expected.

Indeed - if there WERE so great I bet Apple would actually say the number of order in the first day. Instead we have the "Xiaomi Maneuver" - We sold the lot in one hour. LOL

cant wait to see the fake order numbers to save face for the company, they would never say an apple item did not sell well

Yeah, because those billions of dollars they have are from fake sales...

What else would he say, they're pathetic lol. We know millions will be sold, it's about keeping them past the 14 day buyers remorse period though. I'm getting it, but I'm well aware of that 14 day period.

I'd say wait a few weeks till we get more software updates , first gen Apple products always get better with time, more Apps , better performance etc... the sports version is also sold out , so you can't even get one now.

That's true bro. I'm excited for it, something I just gotta give a whirl. I know it already has like a 1,000 apps, which is pretty cool. I just wanna get it, and dig into it. If it does what I want, I'm mos def gonna keep it. I think the Gear S is the sweetest looking smart watch though.

Being an Apple user, you have great honesty regarding the Gear S. Gaming64 could learn at thing or two from you.

Gotta call it like I see it yo.

Sir, can you post a link to why I need to learn from darkjedi? Just because I'm an Apple user doesn't mean I hate other watches.

I'm not talking about the smartwatch, but your bashing of things here that are not Apple. Usually fanboy-ish or sheep-ish. We all have different point of views, but I think we should all express them in a good manner.

When you look at message boards, I have to say it's typically Android fanboys bashing Apple products no matter what. I'm not seeing you call them fanboy-ish or sheep-ish. Gotta call it how I see it yo!

Yes they are fanboys. I wont deny that. Not on anyones side really, I'm not judging any product by brand or OS, but by the product itself.

"great" means "bad" in apple terms otherwise it'll be "amazing", "off the chart", "unprecedented", "beyond expectations", etc etc

You are almost right. "Great" for Apple would mean "amazing"/ "off the charts"/ "unprecedented" (ESPECIALLY the last one) for every other smartwatch vendor.

MY only regret is that VISA would not raise my credit limit, so I could buy more Apple Watches to support the cause.

this is where the haters always go wrong they think the whole world revolves around their wants and needs , they think specs sheet are everything and only reason to buy a device is benchmarks , but in reality this is simply not the case. Out of 10 people maybe 3 or so care about spec sheets and benchmarks , the rest want a device that designed great and works great , Apple are masters of this. yes they aren't perfect ,the performance issues of gen 1 Apple products isn't great but gets better with free updates, just wait a few weeks ,a few software updates and the watch will feel a whole lot better. Apple is always about refinement over hardware specs, been the same since the first iPod. Haters will never understand Apple.

That was a great explanation of the "it just works....except when it doesn't. Then, you will get a free update" slogan. But, let's be realistic about the role that popularity plays in selling products. I'm sure people would prefer Gorilla Glass 4 for their devices. But, that's less important than popularity in terms of priorities. http://www.phonearena.com/news/iPhone-users-admit-to-blind-loyalty-to-Apple_id52603 http://www.phonearena.com/news/Jimmy-Kimmel-fools-public-says-20-Casio-watch-is-the-Apple-iWatch_id58596

it's probably cause these people have great experience with Apple products and buy more for more of the Apple experience than feature lists. if you had good experience with any brand wouldn't you favor spending your money on it's other products rather than Competitors ? it's smart. the advantage Apple has over others is they control both the software and the hardware on a device which gives them a huge advantage when it comes to fixing the issues and making it a better experience for the customer. either way the issues people had with Apple watch in there reviews are the same with the first iPad but all that changed over time, I think the core of the Apple watch is right , it will only get better with time and every smartwatch will copy the digital crown soon.

17. willard12 unregistered

There is no denying that many people enjoy their products. There's also no denying that there are people on PA who declared they would be getting the "iwatch" before there was an official announcement, before they knew how it would look, before they knew anything about it. There is one guy on PA with almost 15,000 comments that mocked the Gear for being "square with poor battery life" , then proceeded to post how many Apple Watches he was getting. Had Apple not done any announcenents or ads, they still would have sold out of pre-orders. If digital crowns and passing heartbeats were on any other watch people would call them "gimmicks."

LOYALTY and BLIND LOYALTY are two totally different things entirely. Brosephine.

Or translated to english any loyality or sign of love to Apple products is bad ("blind").

Loyalty to Apple is not bad. BLIND LOYALTY to Apple, or any OEM, is bad.

Loyalty is earned. Blind loyalty is not. There are people who know their next pocket will be the next iPhone before they even know what the next iPhone will be. People who laughed at the Note series size but bought the 6+ because it's Apple. I'm not suggesting Apple doesn't earn loyalty. But there are folks who insist Apple invented everything, every other product is a copy of Apple (even when Apple actually copied it from someone else). Of course, there are folks like that on the other side, too. But in my experience, not as many or as unreasonable.
