Huawei releases Android 9 Pie updates for 10 more smartphones
Three months ago Huawei released a list of 49 smartphones and tablet that will receive EMUI 9.1 updates based on Android 9 Pie. Four of those phones were already running a beta version of the OS at that time – Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design.

Today, Huawei announced that 10 more smartphones are now eligible for EMUI 9.1 updates, but only in China: Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, Mate RS Porsche Design, P20, P20 Pro, nova 3, Honor 10, Honor V10, and Honor Play.

Spotted by Playfuldroid, the announcement contains details about the update such as the fact that it will include EROFS file system, which should improve the read and write performance of the flash memory by around 20 percent. Also, the new file system will free up to 2GB of storage space after the update by improving the file compression.

GPU Turbo 3.0 will be added too, a well-known feature aimed at gamers that's meant to further enhance the gaming experience and battery performance during long gaming sessions.

As mentioned earlier, the announcement only refers to the Chinese versions of these phones, so there's no way to tell when the update will be available in other countries.
