With the Asus ZenFone Max (M1) and ZenFone Max Pro (M1) available in the U.S. from stores like Best Buy, eBay and Walmart, the sequels should be of some interest to stateside consumers. While Asus has yet to officially introduce the ZenFone Max (M2) and ZenFone Max Pro (M2), both models were certified by Russia's EEC in October.

A video allegedly showing off the Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M2) was posted on Thursday by Androideo (via SlashLeaks). While getting rid of the antenna lines found on the back of last year's model, Asus has switched from using aluminum to employing glass on the rear, and has added a notch to the display. Speaking of which, the rumored specs include a 6.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 2280 resolution (which works out to a 19:9 aspect ratio, up from last year's 18:9). The Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform is expected to be under the hood with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of native storage.

The dual camera setup on back (12MP + 5MP) is expected to be vertically mounted like last year, and the front-facing selfie snapper allegedly weighs in at 13MP. The ZenFone Max Pro (M1) featured a 5000mAh battery and guess what. The capacity of the battery for the sequel is said to also come in at a massive 5000mAh. Android 8.1 should be pre-installed.

According to Asus' Indonesian Twitter account, both the ZenFone Max (M2) and ZenFone Max Pro (M2) will be unveiled on December 11th. The pair are expected to be released early in 2019.
