T-Mobile has been able to get a lot of mileage out of the "myTouch" name. From the original myTouch to the special Fender variant and now the QWERTY keyboard equipped myTouch 3G Slide. Right out of the box, this unit has Android 2.1 under the hood and offers a 5MP camera. While the screen is slightly larger at 3.4 inches, the resolution remains the same from the original myTouch handset. If you would like to see a more in-depth look at what the latest myTouch phone brings to the party, check out the video below. As we reported, the myTouch 3G Slide will launch June 2nd in black, white or red at a price of $179.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate and our signature on a 2 year contract.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. The EVO will no doubt grab the headlines but this will be a great seller for T-Mobile. That keyboard is the clincher. Messaging "Centric" phones are as big of sellers for all the carriers as are the higher end smart phones. There is a huge market for them. Although this is far more than just a messaging phone, people are going to see the slide out keyboard and say...GIMME! ....Especially the texting crazed kiddies!

Even though this will get outshined by the Evo 4G's marketing campaign (because let's face it, t-mo has never been good at their marketing game) this will be one of the only options of a qwerty keyboard 2.1 android device, so it should still be getting a good bit of popularity.

This looks like a solid phone to have, I just wish they had a keyboard on the Droid Incredible, I would have kept mine if they did. Oh well, Droid 2 will do just fine!
