Verizon branded Nokia Lumia 1520 in white, preserved on film
Hey Verizon customers, we've got some good news for you to chew on this Friday evening. You might have thought that the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet would end up being an AT&T exclusive. After all, the Nokia Lumia 900, Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 1020 were all launched as exclusives for AT&T.

But a picture showing a white Nokia Lumia 1520 reveals the Verizon logo on the back of the unit. That would certainly seem to indicate that Big Red customers will get a crack at owning the first Windows Phone unit with the GDR3 update that allows for a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution on the 6 inch screen, and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood. A 20MP PureView snapper is rumored to adorn the back of the phablet.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 could be a big product (no pun intended) for the Windows Phone platform. The GDR3 update brings Windows Phone specs closer to Android's numbers. In that respect, it is better for the Nokia Lumia 1520 to be made available to more U.S. operators than just AT&T and based on this picture, it sure looks like this is going to happen. The device is expected to be unveiled by Nokia on September 26th and launched in November.

This looks different than the original lumia 1520. I guess special edition for Verizon. And the original world variety will hit in at&t.

It's nice that Nokia (or Microsoft I guess) is up to date in terms of specs, but a 6" WP8 phablet just seems ridiculous. I've seen all the leaks, and WP8 on a large display looks absolutely HORRIBLE. There's just so many damn tiles, and that's it, tiles. WP on a smaller display, ok, it looks alright, but definitely not on a screen that big. Stick to regular sized phones, WP, you don't belong on phablets.

Note: this is my opinion. Don't get offended by it and try to tell me WP is the best thing ever and will be beautiful on a large display, because that will be just wasting your time.

WP IS THE BEST THING EVER AND WILL BE BEAUTIFUL ON A LARGE DISPLAY!!!

Oh wait, I didn't see that last part, sorry.

Anyways, I'm not convinced by this phone either. The only reason Samsung has made the Note series work is their Note-specific software that actually enhances the Android experience to the point that the Note ISN'T just a large phone, OR a small tablet. Maybe Nokia and MS will surprise us with some neat phablet-worthy features, but I hate to say I'm fairly pessimistic at this point. With MS' track-record, I guess we're lucky that it's even 1080p.

I doubt it... Every WP7/8 phone was exactly the same, aside from the OEM apps like HTC does with their phones and Nokia with the Lumias. I completely agree with Bezerk. WP8 on a 6" screen looks terrible. It's cluttered, which goes against what WP8 is all about. That's why I'm not so excited for the phone at all. Only time will tell I guess.

That is not a Lumia 1520! It lacks a camera bulge and the speaker on the lower corner is new. The flash position is different as well!

Nokia alters the designs for carriers.
Ex: Lumia 920 and 928 look very different and only change in specs is xenon flash on 928.
Lumia 820 (ATT), 822 (Verizon) and 810 (T-mobile) look different from each other.

I am sure Verizon would have demanded different design for their version.
