Stock firmware image available for Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III
some Verizon Samsung Galaxy S IIIs started arriving at customer’s homes early and the official release is two days away, many Android aficionados may be ready to start tinkering with their new handsets. Luckily for them, the folks over at Samsung Updates have posted the factory firmware image for the device, so you can easily get back to stock in the event your experiments don’t go as planned.
As we previously reported, Verizon’s variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III appears to have a locked bootloader, but at least one site in the hacking community says they believe they have a workaround. If for some reason that one doesn’t work, we’re sure that once the device is released, tools and techniques on the modding side of things will progress quite rapidly.
