Nokia is bringing together its marketing, brand management, communications and industry collaboration under the Marketing and Communications roof, and placed Jerri DeVard as a Chief Marketing Officer. She has been a senior VP of marketing and brand management at Verizon for four years, in charge of Verizon branding and perception on a global scale. Besides Verizon, she has been holding various marketing positions at Citigroup, Revlon and Harrah's Entertainment.

Jerri DeVard will be reporting directly to Niklas Savander, head of Nokia’s Markets unit. It looks like after the appointment of Stephen Elop as CEO there has been a lot of restructuring and new faces coming to Nokia. We hope this is bringing the much needed change, and that Nokia will shortly be again a competitor in the high-end niche to be reckoned with, as the Finns certainly have that potential.
