Deal: Unlocked Honor 5X goes on sale at Amazon for $170, U.S. warranty included
The two year old Honor 5X is on sale once again at Amazon, so if you haven't yet taken advantage of any of the previous deals, this might suit your needs. Before going into details it's worth noting that this isn't really the best price to get the Honor 5X, but it does have one advantage over other promo offers: it comes with U.S. warranty.

Honor 5X is now available for purchase at Amazon for only $170, which is about 15% off the list price. If saving $30 when buying the Honor 5X is not enough for you, then you'll be pleased to know that you'll also get a warranty from Huawei USA.

Keep in mind though that the Honor 5X will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile networks, so if you're using Sprint or Verizon, then this smartphone is not for you.

The unlocked version of Honor 5X that's now on sale at Amazon packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Dual-SIM support is included as well, along with 2GB RAM and a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor.

According to Amazon, the Honor 5X comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop, but you'll be able to update it to Android 6.0 Marshmallow immediately.

Honor 5X is still a decent mid-range smartphone, but it's already too old to get any major OS update higher than Android Marshmallow, so keep that in mind before making your purchase.

But for just $170, it's hard to complain about lack of OS update further than Marshmallow... seriously.

Trojan, this normally isn't a big deal... Or perhaps, a deal breaker...

But in this case, it is...

Have you compared EMUI 4.2 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 5.0 (Nougat)...?

Huawei has taken a MAJOR leap with Nougat... A major leap back to its roots, its origins... I mean, Android...!

The EMUI 4.2 looks like something copied from iOS and Huawei has done lot and LOTS of sahving with it... Sometimes, apps crash in the background... While the other times, it miss push notifications because The OS is strangling the apps in the background when the phone is in sleep...

And things have improved a LOT with Nougat, not only it looks close to stock Android now, it also has an app drawer and now looks like a proper Android Smartphone (except for settings menu) and apps work seamless and reliably now...

So... This is indeed a good price but... I'd rather spend a little more and get the 6X...!

Oh well,

G'Day!

6x is a flop. It failed JerryRigEverything's test miserably. Such a shame for an otherwise solid phone.
