The LG K8 (2017) is bundled in with the purchase of an LG G6 in Germany, Spain and Romania
As we noted earlier today,
LG has begun to roll its new
G6 smartphone out to consumers across Europe and in some markets, the company is throwing in its mid-range K8 for good measure. In Spain, Germany and Romania, some buyers of the LG G6 will also receive the
LG K8 (2017), which could potentially be passed on as a gift or used as a backup handset.
In terms of specs, the K8 (2017) is Bush League compared to its flagship cousin. There's a 5.0-inch display with a 720 x 1280 resolution, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 425 SoC with 1.5 gigs of RAM and 16 GB of on-board storage. On the plus side, it does run on Android 7 Nougat off the bat, and there is a microSD slot that can facilitate a further 32 gigs of space. Overall, it's pretty underwhelming but hey, it's free!
Those in Germany shopping through Saturn.de can secure the bundle for €749, with the promise that the freebie LG K8 (2017) will be shipped out by May 15th. Orange Spain has a similar deal for Spanish consumers at the same price, with the further option of spreading the cost over a 24-month period. Finally, Orange Romania throws the K8 into the mix for a sum total of €719 on its website from today through May 7th. All of the deals are linked at the source.
