Apple names the Samsung devices it wants an injunction against

Apple names the Samsung devices it wants an injunction against
Now that Apple has a jury ruling in its favor, it is moving quickly to try and secure injunctions against eight of Samsung’s products. Many of them are not current devices, so Apple may be doing this as much for psychological impact as anything else.  Samsung isn’t sitting still either, as they are moving to get the injunction lifted against the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which was found to not infringe on Apple’s trade dress or patents. Samsung is also asking to be awarded the $2.6 million dollar bond that Apple had to post when they got the injunction. Since Apple failed to convince the jury that Samsung’s tablet infringed on anything, it would seem like the exact situation that those bonds are created for. It will be something of a pittance against the billion dollars in damages Apple was awarded, but we suppose it would be something of a moral victory.

Which devices are in Apple’s sights for its legal “hall of shame?” Check out the gallery below to find out - and if you want one, you may want to pick one up sooner rather than later!

No, they look and feel just like the iphone. Those devices deserved to be banned.

Apple is God and Apple wins :)

I disagree too, why would anyone signing a two-year contract want to go backwards? The only device of note of the seven listed is the GS2 in all variants. As for the Charge, I have one; and, it makes sense that it would be confused with an Apple device since it's just as buggy and crappy as one.

I hope this verdict does have a ripple effect in the U.S. economy; sending it into a thermonuclear nosedive.

you do not realize that Apple will bully EVERY device in the future, not only these! and that's how to do a business in USA = bribing the judicial system

very very suspicious:
Apple everything vs. Google and Samsung NOTHING!

boycott Apple

This is seemingly pointless. The GS2 is the only phone of note on there, but how many people will honestly bypass the GS3 just to go backwards? Apple are just being bullies at this point.

American legitimate system focus on the 3 feature out of a 100 to get a phone ban and claim that they support new innovation and encourage competitions.

Such irony. LOL!!

If they just fine samsung for an $X amount of money per infringement it will still make sense.

they are very different, but the reason apple wants rid of them is that they were the root devices, the root devices from past few years from which a mighty tree of android and samsung has grown and grown to the point that apple is not only felling under threat but in a worldwide stage has seen android take almost 70% of the market share and that is going to continue to rise.

Most of these devices are old at this stage or considered barely midrange so most people won't care if they taken off market. Samsung is getting much pr from this and even more attention and popularity is been brought to the galaxy ranges.

Apple will rid of all competitions thru legitimate actions as long as its give them the advantage.

In fact all businesses are expect to do that as long as they can get away with it.

To restore competition, America has to fix their broken legal framework or pay the price later.

A promise being made to Steve jobs. The war is against Google. The idea is to destroy the infrastructure. Break the the arms and legs, then destroy the head.

Man, f**k this s**t. The only one that is remotely similar to iOS is the GS1. GS2 has NO relation to iOS, which is why I got it. Haha. :P
Besides, 1.5 bil for god damn ICONS?
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

non_sequitur- you are clearly a retard. the galaxy s 2 is the gs1 with a bigger screen and spec improvements. other than that they are the same dip s**t. to say the only one that is the same is s1 makes you sound retarded. shut up for now on

No, you shut up. And take a first grade English class. You seriously need it.
The GS2 has a newer version of Touchwiz that doesn't look as similar to iOS. And yes, it has a bigger screen and good spec improvements, unlike your boring iPhone, which has hardly changed in years.

the SGS2 has competely different hardware and stronger hardware, is larger, has different aspect ratios, has a different design, completely different screen, a bigger camera, and a completely different version of TW that looks very little like the one found on the SGS1...

but yea.. other than all that, they are identical twins..

lolol

Apple is on Crack. How does the SGS2 and its variants across At&t, sprint and t-mobile look like an iphone! Even the Galaxy Prevail thats the least of all of them to be there. Its not even using touchwiz!

If Apple really wanted to play fair, they would be good with the money. Imposing injunctions only proves that Samsung makes a product the iPhone cannot compete with.

The iPhone can't compete with products that aren't even sold anymore?

according to apple, products that were not in direct competition were harming them. The Vibrant and SGS2 hercules that they claimed against were Tmobile only phones.. neither of which competed directly with the iphone since there was no iphone on the carrier.

The S3 wasn't involved with this case. But I'm sure Apple is going to try to ban it sooner or later, because it "looks" like an iPhone. Lol.

Yea .... Someone is definitely going to be walking around the streets saying that they got an iPhone when it's really an Epic Touch 4G. But most of the phones on this list doesn't even matter because they are either discontinued or they don't sell well anyway. Samsung won't even get affected by this, if so, very little.

I'm pretty sure by "Epic 4G" you meant "Epic Touch 4G." And no, it is not a QWERTY slider...

Apple CEOs, lawyers, jurors and Judge Koh are smoking cracks. APPLE won the Patent Wars and banned Samsung devices are unfair and descriminated.
