Apple iPhone 4S pre-orders break the 1 million barrier on day 1

inb4 incessant rabbling from apple and android fanboys.
Guess people were wrong when they said the i4S would flop.
8. bobfreking55 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 08:39 11 3
The iPhone 4s would not flop. BUT IT SUCKS. Because of all the hype and their thinking of an iPhone 5, they all went out and ordered it without even knowing the freakin product. Even if the iPhone 4s had a 500Mhz Processor and Apple says it is fast, they would buy it. And by they I mean the ISHEEP.
21. shafboy posted on 10 Oct 2011, 09:26 10 1
Ok look, the iPhone 4S isn't suckish at all. However it isn't a big upgrade from the iPhone 4, and lets be honest the huge upgrade is what everyone wanted. No matter for Apple though because what they really have isn't the perfect phone, but the perfect business technique. This is why they always sell so much.
55. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:15 1 2
@bob. How does the ip4s suck? Because of those rumors that turned out to be rumors after all? Hahahahaha. And hello, pre orders came after the ip4s was launched, not before. So how can you say that everyone went and pre ordered it just based on expectations? You are just running out of excuses. And you have nothing more to say other than there are a lot of isheeps, hahahahaha. Pathetic android fanboy.
84. NVPMOTHAF posted on 10 Oct 2011, 22:01 1 1
im going to have to agree with 530gemini. All you android fanboys are mad because, once again, iphone beats all android's phone sales. I can't believe bobfreking55 said they bought it without knowing the phone's offerings. It was shown at an Apple conference 3 days before pre-orders came out. What a sap.
88. Dj21o posted on 10 Oct 2011, 23:50 1 0
Lol, if the iPhone sells so much, why does Android own 50% of the shares? And Google doesn't release 1 phone a year, unlike Apple. I'm sure if you add total Android sales to the iPhone, the iPhone would still lose. Good try. The iPhone 4S is garbage. When they get a big boy screen with IOS5, I would consider buying one. 3.5" is embarrassing for a phone. f**kin' sheep are blind now, let's get passed the being dumb part now lol.
99. NVPMOTHAF posted on 13 Oct 2011, 21:20 0 0
YEAH, IF YOU PUT ALL ANDROID SALES COMBINED, THEY WOULD BEAT THE IPHONE, THAT'S LIKE SAYING, IF YOU PUT A PREP IN A CROWD WITH 30 GANGBANGERS, THE GANGBANGERS WOULD WIN (AND I'M NOT TRYING TO COMPARE IPHONE AND ADROIDS TO GANGBANGERS AND A PREP, IT WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE) NO CRAP!!!! HOW OBVIOUS IS IT THAT MULTIPLE SHOULD BEAT ONE. I DON'T CARE IN WHAT SITUATION YOU PUT IT TO, THAT COMPARISON IS ALWAYS OBVIOUS FOR THE OUTCOME. WILL ANYONE ANSWER MY QUESTION AND TELL ME WHAT ONE, OR MAYBE EVEN TWO COMBINED, ANDROID SALES COULD BEAT THE IPHONE SALES. I'LL TELL YOU, NONE!!!!! ALL YOU DROID BOTS CAN EVER SAY IS "ALL TOTALS OF ANDROID PHONES STOMP IPHONE SALES". THE ONLY REASON WHY IS BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY THING YOU CAN THINK OF. BUT AGAIN NO CRAP THAT OVER 30 ANDROIDS WILL BEAT ONE PHONE.
92. bobfreking55 posted on 11 Oct 2011, 07:04 1 0
I mean they may have the ability to know it, but since it's Apple, they wouldn't mind.
Like this friend I have, So impressed with the iPhone 3G camera and says its nice, but she actually owns a 5MP Camera Galaxy S.
It's apple. people think its the best. you can't deny that.

Meh. This is the first 'introduction' where VZW and Sprint customers were part of the introduction. I would have been shocked if the iPhone 4S had not broken all previous records.
I am not hating on the iPhone, just pointing out some facts.
56. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:17 1 1
@droid. It does not matter. The ip4s is selling more than ever. What if I say that android only has a bigger market share because they are on all carriers, so we should not honor its market share lead? Hahahahaha.

Another Apple stealing success from Samsung patents.
At the iPhone 4S launch, CEO Tim Cook and co were quoted as saying,
“Improving on the innovative stainless steel external, dual-antenna design of iPhone 4, iPhone 4S is the first phone to intelligently switch between two antennas to send and receive.”

Congratulations, you can read the instruction manual. Every phone pretty much has 2.3, and ICS will come to all phones that have 1ghz and above processors. IOS5 can't touch Android. Everyone knows dumbasses will buy the new iPhone, even when the old one is getting the new software. And how many of those people have the iPhone 4 already? Probably the majority. And I even gave Apple the pleasure of emailing them why they suck. But no one listens, even the little farm animals. Go figure.
101. NVPMOTHAF posted on 13 Oct 2011, 21:29 0 0
congrats for ICS.......Oh wait, are they actually testing it insead of prematurely spraying the old android phones that couldn't support it like the stupid release of 2.3. If ICS has so much to offer with all these cool features (that probably wont work without you having to download something else and even then....) do you honestly think that the 1ghz single core phones will be able to support it when most couldn't support the 2.3. Come on if you think that they will be able to support the new one with out it crashing, when they couldn't support the current, you have got to be smokin something other than cigarettes. I would love to hear an argument on that one, I work for Verizon tech, and know a bunch of people with other carriers that have them, and 90% of my calls are with 2.3 devices daily. With averaging 36 calls a day, that would make 32 of my calls androids. That would make it 832 android phones a month that have issues. Only about 6 a month that are Iphones. hmmmmmmm...................................

Its a great phone its past far beyond great i cant wait till i get my 4S, this phone still has Steve Jobs signature on it respect him and his vision everything has its time and its place and im just happy I get to keep my same plan with SPRINT got to love unlimited atleast for now it will be $10 for unlimited data but ha better than big greedy read and lame ATT.

Sprint sales helped out as well, if Sprint had the iPhone last year, it would have sold a lot more. This will quickly turn into a flame wars article with androids and iphones talking trash to each other. It sure has over on engadget lol, so sad.
6. bossmt_2 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 08:34 6 1
Its not ju-st Sprint, this is the first simultaneous launch with AT&T and VZW. If this didn't shatter records the phone would be a flop. So instead of launching to a potential approx 100 mil its launching to approx 250 mil

Even though the 4gs wasn't a huge upgrade, I suppose these pre-order numbers show, in my opinion, a few different things:
- People will always have the need to own the latest and greatest, no matter how miniscule the upgrade
- The people are becoming more and more aware of the advances in the mobile phone industry, increasing the market and exchange rate of phones
- iPhone still has a ridiculous following that is expanding at an alarming rate
59. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:23 0 2
@beer. From single core to dual core. From 5mp camera to 8mp camera. From 780p to 1080p video recording. From 4 lenses to 5 lenses on its camera. Added Siri personal assistant. Antenna improved with better and newer technology. And you say that those are minuscule updates from the ip4? You're stupid :-)
73. readingthissh1t posted on 10 Oct 2011, 19:08 2 0
dual core is a big upgrade, the camera is one too. *huge upgrades were expected along with a new name, if apple is so innovative, then where the phuck is the innovation in the 4s (outside of siri) i give apple props for siri.

I like the iPhone as much as I like Android, I don't understand why people hate on the iPhone, just because is Apple??? Apple makes great quality products, that's one of the many reasons why people buy them. That doesn't mean Android is bad, Android has a much bigger line up of devices at different price ranges that customers can choose from and is also more of an open source OS making it easy to modify. If you don't like the iPhone or Apple in general, why bother looking at this posts if it's nothing that interests you?
42. alx33 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 12:12 2 1
EXACTLY!!!!!!! I like all the major phone Os's (ios, android, blackberry os, webOS etc) and I don't understand why people bash other people just because they like a different product. I can understand if you like android but please, KEEP IT TO YOURSLEF!!!!!!!!!
60. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:26 0 1

87. GixxerRider311 (unregistered) posted on 10 Oct 2011, 23:33 0 0
I agree like there's really no point in bringing a debate over what's better, sure they all compete but every OS is made different and is also focused to different markets but they ALL have something that makes them unique and I don't see why people should have to be rude like that, They can just keep their negative comments to themselves.
12. testman22 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 08:55 3 1
The iphone 4s could have been a piece of dog crap in a box and theyd still sell millions. People buy apple blindly, they probably dont even know the differences between 4 and 4s. Cant wait to hear the reactions of the people who receive their 4s and are confused why it looks exactly like the iphone 4.
13. testman22 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 08:57 0 0

you are right. Apple is the king at marketing. People don't buy a phone they follow. It is funny to see how iphone owners are surprised if you show them a galaxy s2
52. bossmt_2 posted on 10 Oct 2011, 15:25 0 0
It is interesting when that happens. I acknowledge that Apple in general releases more polished devices and apps, but when I show people what my Android can do they're shocked. But then again to this day I still dazzle people with what I can do with a PC.
70. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 18:08 1 1
@ivan. Android fanboys have confidently declared the ip4s an epic flop right after its launching. But now that the ip4s broke record sales, you guys are back on the marketing king excuse, hahahaha. And those iphone users who are surprised to see your sgs2 are only acting surprised. I know because I do that too just to make them happy. Use your brain if you have one. If we are sooooo surprised with your sgs2, shouldn't we have bought it instead of the ip4s? :-)
You see, we iphone users are civilized. We don't attack people just because they got themselves an android device. We respect them for their choice and we will not call them sheeps or any other derogatory adjectives. And we want them to feel good about their choice. Unlike you android fanboys who are unabashed on attacking iphone users, like we have no right to choose what works for us.
77. Whateverman posted on 10 Oct 2011, 19:22 1 0
I have to disagree about iPhone users not attacking people based on their device. I've been attacked even while complimenting Apple and the iPhone, simply because of my Android Ninja avatar. But it goes both ways, i've seen Android fans attack iPhone users too out of no where. Some of the iPhone users I have seen were just so very condescending, even though they lacked the knowledge to put up an intelligent debt.

62. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:32 0 1
@testman. People don't buy the ip4s blindly. They know that there are significant updates with its internals. Apple levels up the internals of the current iphone model every year and redesigns the iphone every two years. Think ip3g to ip3gs, and now ip4 to ip4s. It will be the same with the ip5. Ip5 for 2012, and ip5s for 2013. If you use your brain for a change instead of hating blindly, you would see Apple's clockwork on their annual iphone releases.
74. readingthissh1t posted on 10 Oct 2011, 19:18 0 0
~_~` they might memorize what new internals there are but do most people *really know about the internals? im betting that one of my friends will come bragging about their dual core iPhone and not even know that it means. just saying that some people buy because they are loyal to apple and its products, some because iPhone is a fashion statement, and some because they appreciate what the iPhone can do for them.If android or wp7.5 blew up like that, the same could be said about their phones too

Congrats to Apple!
Boy, they sure know what they are doing... announce a marginal upgrade that disappoints just about everyone.. and break records for preorders! Now it's looking like a pretty smart move, because if they turn around and announce an iPhone 5 in 6 mos.. people will scramble to buy that too!
I think someone should do a study of Apple consumers.. they seem to be such an incredibly faithful group, buying anything Jobs throws at them.. regardless of what it is.. like happy little iCrack addicts.
63. 530gemini posted on 10 Oct 2011, 17:34 1 1
@thethings. Yes, Apple and Apple users know what they're doing, and it's none of your damn business since it has nothing to do with you.
