Xiaomi to unveil its first Poco branded phone, the F1, on August 22nd
The first phone from Xiaomi's new mid-range Poco sub-brand, the Poco F1, is set to be unveiled on August 22nd in New Delhi. That news comes from the Poco India Twitter account. A leaked image allegedly showing the label from the phone's retail box revealed that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform.

The label also showed that the dual camera setup that adorns the rear of the unit will feature some AI capabilities, possibly a portrait mode. If the leaked label is legit, the Poco F1 will carry a 20MP front-facing camera, a large 4000mAh battery, and an industry leading liquid cooling system. It also will be equipped with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage,

The device is believed to have a notch and a facial recognition system, and a Romanian retailer called PC Garage had previously posted a listing for the Poco F1 that has apparently been taken down. Prior to the removal of the listing, it showed that the two cameras on back will weigh in at 15MP and 5MP. If the price on the listing was legit, the phone will sell for the equivalent of $489 USD (after a $73 USD discount) at PC Garage.

Back in July, the Pocophone was approved by the FCC, which listed a device with a 6.4-inch display, so it is possible that the F1 will be a large phone. At the time of the FCC certification, there was talk that the Poco brand might be used by Xiaomi to take its first steps into the U.S. smartphone market. That might turn out to be true, but for now it appears that the Poco F1 is being limited to the Indian market.
