I bought my S24 Ultra 1TB in January '25, so I HAD the option of going for the S25 Ultra. BUT several things turned me off on the S25U. No 1TB memory option AND I vastly preferred the flat screen with square corners on the S24.

After putting up with a OnePlus McLaren phone the last 4 or 5 years, round corners is a hard NOPE. I opted for the S24 because I did not wanna deal with another 4-5 years of rounded corners any more. The Android UI wasn't (and still ain't) designed for rounded screen corners.

Maybe they stopped selling them or something because my S25 Ultra is a 1TB version. I ordered it during the pre-order phase. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I switched from Apple to Samsung about 8 years ago and I loved how Samsung pushed cutting edge tech and features, especially with the Note series, the the Folds but a few years ago they stopped and started copying Apple by just making small upgrades and milking cameras for years at a time. Now they are just trying to make as much profit as possible with as little product upgrades as possible. You see it particularly in the Folds where they just rode out minor updates until they got so far behind they had to do something (Z Fold 7) but they are crazy far behind Chinese Foldables, that's why I switched to Oppo. My fiance doesn't like to change phones more than once in 2 or 3 years and she hates to change brands but even she is considering the OnePlus 15 because of the S26U rumors.

I have a Samsung Z Fold 4, which I bought to combine phone, tablet and computer functionality with doing my artwork on a bigger screen. Also for reading my sheet music. However, dropping S-pen support on the Fold 7 was a really bad idea. While I could probably go back to drawing with a mouse, like I did with my very old Dell Optiplex GX1 desktop, it is quite a laborious chore, having to drop the design in pixel-by-pixel. Also, it makes signing pdf forms a chore. Same with marking up my scores. So, if I have to upgrade, I'll probably look for a Z Fold 6. No higher. Then, I'll have to evaluate other brands. Or buy a separate tablet. More expenses on a limited income in a bad economy.

Honestly, the design choices don't bother me one way or another, considering I always use a phone case anyway.

But the integrated AI into everything is done in the most inane ways, and functions that used to work fine, don't in their AI iterations.

I have to delete my offline voice cache weekly just to be able to use voice commands to call my wife, spell check gets words wrong half the time now, and the grammar check is even worse! It tries to make conversational writing formal, and formal writing conversational or emoji filled. What the heck?!?

This is both a Samsung and Google issue... Using LLM based on Google docs and Samsung notes instead of actual dictionaries and grammar rules.

Spell check and autocorrect was actually getting good, and then it got worse than it ever was...

Brb in a chat should not autocorrect to I'll be back shortly, but it does, and I've checked my autocorrect.

I disabled autocorrect and spellcheck a long time ago by unchecking them in settings. Also, using an external, Bluetooth keyboard disables autocorrect automatically, as well as disappearing the onscreen keyboard. So nice to have my own words and full screen back.

Cases address pretty much all non-screen-related design complaints.

STFU and buy a case.

Well they didn't just drop support. The digitized that supports the pen is made by WACOM. I guess they didn't have one thing enough to meet the strict requirements for such a thin device. Even though the S-Pen doesn't work, there are pens that do.

I just went from an S10e to an S25. The fact that the S25 looks and feels like an iPhone is tragic. The S10e was peak Samsung design. Slim, rounded edges, big enough. It was perfect, IMO. The S25 hard edges are garbage, absolute garbage.

The S25U looks and feels like an iPhone? Really? 😆

So let me get this straight. Apple is making a huge bump on the back of their phone and all is well. I find this article not accurate. How about we see the number of votes before we say a majority has spoken.

I see a lot of hate for the s26 ultra so I'm a bit worried because i habe been waiting to get a new phone for a while and need to now as my phone wont be supported anymore for updates(s21 ultra). Is it worth to go s26 ultra or just go s25ultra, i use all the camera features and the full extent of processing power of my current phone
