Honestly, I love Apple’s hardware. No complaints there. My biggest issues as of late, are strictly OS and software. It all started with the iPhone 16 launch, and how Apple botched the release with AI promises, that they still haven’t delivered on. I remember watching the iPhone 16 launch event, and most of that event was centered around AI features. We’re still waiting on most of those features. Then comes the launch of iOS 26. What a train wreck that has been. Since updating to iOS 26, I have about a 1/4 less battery than I had when running iOS 18. My phone heats up even when performing normal tasks, like web browsing, scrolling through Instagram, streaming Spotify, etc. And my phone isn’t as smooth as it was before. The OS is choppy, and stutters quite a bit. All of this is unacceptable from a multi trillion dollar company. I love FaceTime, iMessage, FindMy, and AirDrop features on iOS. But I’m being tempted to leave by the amazing Galaxy S26 Ultra. I’ve seen how amazing the S25 Ultra is.
I am skeptical on internal Qi2 magnets (not that its a game changer to me as i always put a case on my phones and my current Spingen case on my S25U has the magnets and they work perfectly on my QI2 standing charger). Unless the phones body is modified with a non metallic area over the magnets, i dont see how internal magnets would work thru a Titanium or Aluminum body. Maybe Samsung knows something everybody else doesn't.
Yes but I rumors were tending to imply a move to an aluminum frame to improve cooling like Apple (this does seem like the added metal eould provide a good heat sink) yet maybe they will maintain the glass back or at least a glass section (again like Apple) to maintain wireless charging, You are right that you can still transmit a magnetic field through non ferris metals but it does significantly reduce the field strength. The more I think about it, they will probably just maintain the glass back in some fashion so it probobly is a non issue. Thanks for being the voice of reason.
Well yes. Someone questioning my 30 year carrier in the computer industry and basically calling me a liar unfortunately got the better of my ego unfortunately. I retired from Silicon Image in California in 2002 (yep I'm an old timer) and while i have not been in the engineering trade for about 23 years now, I read and study technology incessantly. There is so much conflicting formation out there these days sometimes I get it wrong by trusting the wrong source and/or sources but I would like to think that I am big enough to admit when I'm wrong and correct my errors, I am definitely ashamed that I didn't just do then what I hope to do moving forward. Which is just ignore him. Words matter and as a Christian I need to do better. Thank you for your kind words. There are many genuinely knowledgeable people on thus site trying to further their technical knowlege and while they may dissagree, theu do it respectfully. You obviously are one of them.

I commend you for always trying to take the high road with him, but I could also see when the stubborn bias & name calling would grind your gears.

Is the back of the phone not made of glass this time?
Anyway, magnetic fields work through non-magnetic metals, though they may be weakened a bit.
