Good to see the prepaid variety not getting totally forgotten and left behind. Bravo Sprint.
This is awesome. My girlfriend has Virgin Mobile (We live in the Tri-State/Northern New Jersey Area) and despite some lag issues, the intercept is an awesome phone for the price. If Virgin Mobile gets a Galaxy S type phone with similar specs, I'm jumping ship to them. I don't even care about dual core goodness right now.
There is new update on virginmobileus twitter account:
@islandboy4lyfe Yes – the update will be coming this Spring – stay tuned for more specific details.

Latest tweet from Virgin Mobile USA regarding Samsung Intercept Froyo upgrade:
We know you have been asking for specifics on when VM will be getting the update to Android Froyo 2.2....it will be available about 3/25.

Add 320 x 480 screen to Intercept. Add Front Facing Web Camera to Intercept. Then it becomes Samsung Transform. Also, Add 1 Ghz processor to Intercept. Add Super AMOLED screen to Intercept. Then it becomes Samsung Epic. Come Oct 2011, we will see many more improved Android smart phones on Virgin Mobile USA. Finally, it is not the phone hardware that makes phone great (except for games, video chat). It is the phone software, Apps, Data Service that makes phone great. With 25 USD Unlimited SMS (Text) / MMS / Data - Android phones on Virgin Mobile USA are going to rule for a long time. Sooner or later, People will realize that they are paying extra for same SMS / MMS / Data services to other phone carriers in USA. They will come to Virgin Mobile USA to save money on the phone operating costs.
I wanna know when the intercept will get 3.0 or higher
