Verizon on schedule with its OTA update for the Motorola DEVOUR
Right on cue and without delay, Verizon Wireless is pushing out an OTA update for the Motorola DEVOUR. As we've reported last week, the software update CALAND_X_o1.15.08P brings forth some minor bug fixes, enhancements, and speed improvements to the relatively still new device. Sure it may not be Android 2.1 in the flesh, but we're sure that some owners will appreciate the hasty roll out as opposed to living with some of the issues for an extended amount of time. However, Motorola has yet to make a final determination on when they'll push out Android 2.1 for the device – as we've seen in Motorola's time line schedule. The latest OTA update for the Motorola DEVOUR will have to suffice for now seeing that it could be potentially a while before Android 2.1 finally comes along.

I just finished the update about 4 hours ago. The only obvious changes to the performance of the phone are the decreased speed with which the applications drawer opens and closes and the home screen comes up. Call quality still seems to be the same. Haven't had occasion to try out the voice dial on bluetooth yet. Still, it didn't break anything and at least something is noticeably better so that's a plus.
