UPDATED: 8GB iPhone 3GS appears to be confirmed on Rogers web site

This article contains unofficial information.
The other day we reported about leaked internal communications at Rogers Wireless that suggested that Apple was about to reveal an 8GB iPhone 3GS. Now, we have some more confirmation about such a device heading to Rogers. The Canadian carrier's web site has a page that compares the features of the iPhone 3G and the newer 3GS model. Near the bottom of the page, it shows that the iPhone 3GS is available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. And while this is the only public portion of Rogers internet presence that contains a reference to the 8GB model, when you take this info and add it to the leaked internal document, it adds up to an 8GB iPhone 3GS coming soon. No pricing information has been mentioned.

*Update*: I turns out a Rogers spokesperson has informed that this was actually a mistake and there is no 8GB iPhone 3GS.

1st and will it be black and white or black or just white because apple has a tendancy to make the more sleek looking color, imo, for the bigger memory like the white with the 3g was only for the 16gb hopefully it comes black and white

Actually Rogers confirmed to Engadget that it was a typo.

No, if you search for Rodgers Wireless the Iphone will appear on their main page. It isn't a typo. This is not surprising though because I am almost certain AT&T owns stakes in Rodgers. Now verizon and Vodafone are cooperate entities and for the Iphone to wash up on vodaphones shores is a little more interesting. Most of Verizon's sim cards have Vodafone on the.

Oh yeah, they do sell the iPhone 3G and 3GS. but they had a typo that said there was an 8GB iPhone 3GS, and the lowest 3GS is the 16GB model. They actually fixed it on their site too so that there's only one checkmark next to the 8GB model.

Oh, yea I see the mistake..Sorry for any confusion.. Hopefully Verizon and Vodafone have a newer version soon to run on thier new high speed network that is set to run in 2010, the same year the AT&T exclusive deal runs out with Apple.
