Yes it is true! The thirteen year old Reina Hardesty managed to write 14,528 in December. According to a Nielsen study, the average for an US teen is 1,742 a month. This comes to 468 messages a day or one each 2 minutes; this is without the much needed sleeping time. Her father thought this was impossible, who wouldn’t, but this changed when he received a 440 pages long statement from AT&T. This passion of hers would have cost him almost $3000, but luckily she is in on $30 unlimited texting plan. It’s like he knew, what was going to happen. Anyway, after this her parents banned her from texting after dinner.

It looks like texting addiction runs in the family, as her father admitted that he sends around 900 messages a month, which according to the same Nielsen study is 700 more than the average for his age group.

4. vzw fanman posted on 13 Jan 2009, 07:37

why would there be 440 pages on the gayt&t bill?

What a waist of paper...I hope they are just exaggerating. I did not think any carrier list text messages line by line on a bill but maybe she had 14,000 phone calls on top of her 14,000 text messages.

Apparently, she has no life. Seriously, I like to take a breather from texting on the weekend or during the weekdays. I mean, my thumb starts to hurt and cramp after awhile.

That is quite a few if you are talking about just sent, but if its sent and received I work for a cell phone company and I have seen a 14 year old who did almost 30,000 in one month.

so at&t sends detailed bills with all the text messages included?

10. vzw fanman posted on 13 Jan 2009, 11:33

thats what i wonder? thats gay

16. tflex posted on 13 Jan 2009, 17:26

yes they give a very detailed monthly account overview...how is that gay?

18. ICanAffordVZW posted on 13 Jan 2009, 17:45

well unless they have paperless billing, its gay because it is very eco-unfriendly. maybe thats why vzw leads in profitability...ATT focuses on showing a detailed texting section which is uneccessary.

21. vzw fanman posted on 13 Jan 2009, 21:09

hahahahah lol. nice user name dude...and tflex it is gay they have to print on paper the detailed texting when they could just put it online.

23. Bawt posted on 13 Jan 2009, 21:56

They have online too.... It's up to the subscriber.

25. tflex posted on 14 Jan 2009, 02:10

they have paperless billing as well, but it has to be requested. of course u can view it online also.

26. tflex posted on 14 Jan 2009, 02:12

not everyone texts that much either though. and if u do not have the internet, which some dont, it is very much so necessary to see your bill on paper form. so think before you speak.

27. vzw fanman posted on 14 Jan 2009, 07:40

if you don't have internet you should not have a cellphone! if you dont have internet you are obviously poor or are too lazy to go to a local library. yea its good to see your bill on paper but not the text message details.

Im not sure if TMO's customers know what the "internets" are, or even how to use "the google." They are too busy hiding their sidekick from their manager at Burger King while on the fryer.
