Sony Xperia Z2 global rollout begins today (in Taiwan)
The Xperia Z2 will see a wider availability starting April, when it's going to reach other Asian markets, as well as Europe. Until then, Taiwanese customers can buy the smartphone for around $782 (23,900 TWD in local currency). The price includes some Sony accessories, like a digital noise cancelling headset and a magnetic charging dock.
Alongside the Z2 smartphone, Sony also launched the Xperia Z2 Tablet in Taiwan. As you may know, the Z2 Tablet is already available in Europe (including in the UK). Some photos form the Taiwanese launch event can be seen below.
Sony was the third largest smartphone vendor in Taiwan last year, behind Samsung and HTC.

snapdragon801.... really thats old AND SLOW,, TEGRA5 IS MORE POWERFULL AND ARM CORTEX A57
S801 S805 IS UNDERDOG OF A15 A57 TEGRA5 INTEL ATOM
8. sgodsell (Posts: 873; Member since: 16 Mar 2013)
You just proved to the world how ignorant you really are. The snapdragon 801 was only released this year in 2014. The snapdragon 805 when it is released in Q2 2014 will support a 128 bit bus using LPDDR3-1600mhz speed ram. BTW all of the snapdragon 8XX series are quad core and support opengl 3.0. They start at 2.2ghz and go up to 2.7ghz for the unreleased 805.
A57 is for 64bit chips like the Snapdragon 610, 615, 410. More manufacturers are releasing 64 bit ARM socs. Yes we already know that the Intel atoms are 64bit chips.

s800 s801 s805 is still an a9 corrtex
s805 is still the 8series
we are talking about arm a15 not a9
a a15 1.7 is par on with 2.5 s801
s800 is a arm cortex a9
looks like you really hate a15 and a57
a arm a15 can clock upto 3.0ghz
lpddr4 on tegra5 vs lpddr3
are you telling me the tegra 5 is underdog a weak cpu than s805
looks like your a snapdragon fan

Please tell me you were joking... Please spend some time and further research the designs of the Krait 400 cores.
17. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
joking on what k400
k400 is just half implimantation taken from a15 and mixed it up with a9
so what is k400 ?
berzerk00 and tyler granter would know aswell as jakelee what a k400 is
go to google type s800 vs arm a15 or krait400 vs arm cortex a15 or tegra5
what do you know about cpu? even omap5 by texas instrument kickass the s805
what is s805 an overclocked s800 by extra 200ghz
GPUA450 HAS 170GIGAFLOPS ITS STILL CANT MATCH THE POWER OF PVRROUGE 6640 AT 260 FLOPS
apq8064 and apq8064t is the same ,, sony experia arc had 8064 arc s had 8064t
s4pro is the same as s600 just overclocked cpu from 1.5 to 1.9 max is 2.1ghz
gpu raised from 446 to 567mhz on s4pro to s600
these are from ANANDTECH WEBSITES ASWELL FROM XDA
20. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
I hope you do know the S800 alone matches/excels the octa-core Exynos depending on the task, right? The 801 is literally no slouch and can easily go head to head with anything on the market right now. You're looking at words and numbers on paper, but not actual day to day performance.... Please stop where you're at right now.
23. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
hello papsmurf the s800 is clocked at 2.3ghz and the octocore is at 1.6ghz
why dont we clock the exynos at same speed as 2.3ghz and see .....
stop right know do you have common sense you are comparing 16 years old to 23 years old person , thats like ok im driving at 230kmh and your driving at 160kph obviously i will win
use your head and maths its simple soulution o by the way your still a young kid at university or college
26. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
But the Exynos Octa should be faster since it has four A15 cores, no?
Give it up. I just proved you wrong.
29. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
JESus christ its 1.6 vs 2.3 how can 1.6 be faster than 2.3, theroy it was clocked at 1.6 so its par with 2.3
how did u prove me wrong? more like i did...
ok intel i5 has diffrent arcitre than intel i3 the i5 needs to run at lower speed to equate with i3 at higer clock speeds
viceversa with a15 vs s800
cant you gret it through your head is it that hard to understand a simple theroy and your a university student please dont make a fool out of yourself
37. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Apple's A8 chip is clocked at 1.3GHz and gives the same performance as a 2.3GHz clocked S800. Your comment is invalid now.

32. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
look at your answers replying back to me they are so short you couldnt even provide me with how i was wrong and telling me you proved me wrong
kids cant argue cause kids are still unwise
grow up wise up
11. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
a53 615 is still no way near a a15
snapdragon is slow still they dont have a a15 cpu yet
apple and samsung are leaders along with exynos
18. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
IS THAT WHY APPLES IP5S ARM A15 AKA A57 CLOCKED AT 1.3GHZ STILL PAR WITH THE S800, IF CLOCKED AT 1.6 IT SWILL STILL KICKASS THE S805
and the s800 has to be clocked at 2.3 to be par on 1.3 arm a15s
why on earth are you comparing a a15 cpu to a9 cpu thats like your comparing a i3 to i5
get it through your head s800 s805 is still based on arm cortex a9
21. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Because the A8 chip is A57 and the S800 is Qualcomm's own design that gives performance similar to A15 but power efficiency as well.
24. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
nope nooooo no
A8 is arm cortex a15 BASED on a57 a57 a15 is the same except one is 64bit but both run on arm a15s800 is based on arm cortex A9
POWER EFFEINCY MEANS THE S800 DRAWS 2WATTS VS ARM CORTEXA15 AT 8.5WATTS WHICH MEANS ITS MORE POWERFULL THAT IT NEEDS FANS TO COOL IT DOWN
27. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
Stop pretending like you know what you're talking about. Come back when you're ready to tackle on such a topic.
30. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
so im a lyer your calling arm cortex a15 the company a lier your saying anandtec and xda the most trusted cpu gpu experts a lier
you are a disgrace and humiliating your self
this is not what i think and presume this is what arm holdings the company themself reatriates
you are a big joke i forgot im having a discussion with a 20 years old kid whose acting like a kid like experiadroid
cant back his own statements and back fires of back pedling
it was a laugh talking disputing with you
38. PapaSmurf (Posts: 7291; Member since: 14 May 2012)
There's no point in having a conversation with you since you clearly ignored all the rules of grammar. I almost cried inside just by reading your extremely long run on sentence.
Your stating information that pretty much everyone on this site knows already. I'm countering your "arguments" with facts and opinions about the architecture of the SoCs and performance. When you can provide a well constructed sentence and a valid argument, I'll take you a little more seriously. Until then, you're just a clueless person who Googled Arm 57 and copied and pasted what you found.
44. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
off topic and so delusional , o wait your a snapdragon fan, you still going off topic you havent even gave me a answer why i was wrong, just blablabla, know saying grammar, forget about that im talking in english not chinese.
these users dont no jakas about cpu, if they did not even anyone couldnt tell me why nor provide answer
i dont need your off topic bogus nonsense i want what you no, about ur beloved s800

I really don't care about the benchmarks, The processors you mentioned all of them can do any activity (Videos, Games, Apps.....etc) smoothly.

My problem with the Tegra's is that they NEVER come out in any worthy device.
Qualcomm is on all the TOP phones & tablets, so until the Tegra's start to come out on worthy machines... it's like they don't even exist.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon has it all on lockdown... Now wait for the s810 64bit...
28. Genza (Posts: 91; Member since: 12 Mar 2014)
Like it or not the S810 is the best chipset available on the market today.
Because the S810 has the best combination of speed, connectivity and power consumption.
31. Arte-8800 (limited) (Posts: 3086; Member since: 13 Mar 2014)
its the best chip cause no oems are providing high mah 4000 battery to compensate to run a15 arm cortex clocked at 2.3ghz due to draining battery cause the cpu is so powerfull it needs fans to cool it down
funny giving credit to adreno snapdragon qualcom gpu which the a450 gpu has only 170gigafl;op and powervr sgxrouge is an unkown company to the public with there highend g6630 has 260gf

4. Anshulonweb (Posts: 276; Member since: 07 Feb 2014)
first it is not tegra5 it is Tegra k1...and second, it is not enough power efficient to be used in mobile devices........ third, snapdragon 801 isn't "slow", you should have checked out the video of unreal engine 4 on nexus 5 before trolling....
5. ffaarrooqq (Posts: 64; Member since: 26 May 2011)
Please bring soon to India.
I am waiting to replace my s4 with z2
40. timukh (Posts: 152; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)
It will be priced at around Rs 55000-57000 bro. U sure u want to spend that kind of money on a phone?
42. ffaarrooqq (Posts: 64; Member since: 26 May 2011)
I think price will be around 45-50k.
Bro its a masterpiece.
45. timukh (Posts: 152; Member since: 04 Feb 2013)
I highly doubt it will be priced so low. International prices are very high for this particular handset. Almost reaching $900. Looking at the amount Indian govt charges for tax it should be priced around that margin. If not then obviously it will be a great buy :D
47. ffaarrooqq (Posts: 64; Member since: 26 May 2011)
Look i said it will be around 45-50. Sony launched z2 at 49990 price tag. But now i think this is also expensive.
