Samsung builds an app so ATIV S and ATIV Odyssey users can beam to Android devices
Samsung has released “ATIV Beam” in the Windows Phone store and it is available to Samsung Windows Phone owners of ATIV S and ATIV Odyssey devices.

Sharing via NFC amongst Windows Phones is not an issue. Sharing across devices is not so cut-and-dry and this app is meant to exclusively bridge the gap between Samsung Windows Phone devices and Android devices.

The description does not denote that those Android devices should be Samsung branded devices, but we are sure that Samsung expects some benefit from that circumstance.  That, and the reality that Samsung rules the Android market share pretty much assures such a benefit.

The interface is straight forward, just make sure your ATIV S or ATIV Odyssey has “tap+send” turned on in the settings and the rest is easy. ATIV Beam is for Windows Phone to Android devices only, so you will not need it for sharing with other Windows devices. Click on the source link to get it for your Samsung Windows Phone ATIV device.

Sammy is now taking the time to improve its Windows Phone devices. What a busy year they have had this year.

Windows Phone doesn't need an app to share files. I use an Xperia, my friend her Lumia.. no restrictions in sharing....so unlike iOS.
