LG's KitKat-ready L90 officially launching this week
LG L90, the largest smartphone in LG’s new L Series III, will be available to purchase starting this week.

According to the South Korean company, the handset will be first launched in Russia and neighboring countries, with “other markets around the world” expected to follow soon.

The L90 runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and comes with LG’s new Knock Code feature. Other than that, the smartphone offers a 4.7-inch IPS display with 540 x 960 pixels, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory (expandable), and a 2,540 mAh battery. For more, you should check out our LG L90 hands-on from MWC 2014.

LG tells us that the L90 brings a “perfect balance of performance, personality and price.” However, it’s not clear yet how much the new handset will cost.

“With its competitive specs and exquisite design, we expect the L90 to continue the success of the L Series in the global marketplace. It offers the very best of LG in design, hardware, OS and UX features so 3G smartphone users worldwide will be able to enjoy a truly first-class smartphone experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

Not long ago, we heard that the L90 would be released in the US via T-Mobile. The carrier hasn’t confirmed this, but we assume it’s going to do it soon.

I still don't understand why LG downgrade the resolution?

Exactly, 720p should now be considered "mid range" thanks to the Moto G, anything lower on a near 5 inch display is just too cheap.

LG dropped the ball with their 2014 mid rangers. the L9 and L9 2 were fantastic devices, and the third generation of it is just meh. LG's L series 3 and F series 2 are the S5 of the midrange

540p is a mistake. For G2 Mini is even worst.
