Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire Z is in the last stages of testing & will be out soon
From the sound of it all, the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire Z is almost complete and appears to become ready for roll out in the coming weeks, which will be done in the form of an over-the-air process. Naturally, it might take some time for it to reach every single handset owner, but HTC is confident that it’ll permeate to every individual by the end of the month.
Inching ever so close to that finish line, HTC will still be hard at work in pumping out the update for carrier branded versions of the device since this upcoming one doesn’t target them. However, it’s anyone’s guess as to how long we’ll see that become a reality seeing that carriers meticulous inspect and test updates to ensure that they’re meeting their criteria.

Once again HTC kicks all the Thunderbolt owners below the belt by updating yet another device before them. Not a good look for them at all.
