Android 2.1 update for the LG Optimus GT540 is now available to download

Even though the Android 2.1 update for the LG Optimus GT540 was not a simultaneous roll out, you can now download the update through LG's web site to finally get situated with it.
Sure it's surprising to see handset manufacturers still cranking out updates for older builds of Android, especially when Froyo has been available for a few months now, but owners are probably still going to be ecstatic by their arrival. For those finally taking the plunge with the update, you can expect to see support for multiple accounts, HTML5 support in the browser, Microsoft Exchange support, live wallpapers, and Bluetooth 2.1 support.
Rather than going with an over-the-air update, you'll have to download it your computer and connect your handset to it. Once you've gotten that taken care of, you can finally enjoy all of the benefits of the tasty eclair dessert.

Had phone for a year now, LG up-greaded my and the wifes to 2.1 for free ?.
Needs 2.2 , save to memory card, as internel memory is just not up to it ?.
E-mailed LG they say no plans to ubgread to 2.2 or above ?.
Take it they wont you buy new phone ?.
You think as theres that meny of them out there they would up-gread it?.
Just look at motorola and sony-erickson ? .
Still love the phone , but anything you download to big, just slows it down as its saved internal not to sd-card ?
Bummer ?
