7 things Apple Music does better than Google Play Music

In case you've been living under a rock, Apple Music is already here and is making its baby steps in the music-streaming business. It's certainly aiming to shift the status quo and sett itself among the most popular music-streaming services out there; whether it will succeed is a whole different topic though.

We've already told you everything you need to know about Apple Music, compared it with most of its adversaries, like Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, and last, but not least - Google Play Music.

The latter is pretty interesting as it's the product of one of Apple's greatest adversaries - Google. True, the rivalry between the two tech giants will never end; it just spanned to a whole new front. We decided to highlight some of the differences that make Apple Music superior to Mountain View's music offering.

I have to say that I think exclusivity on such things as music is a bad thing, so that's a thing that apple music does wrong, so very very wrong, we are going to end up with needing various different streaming services if others begin getting exclusive deals as well, and that is just bad.

It wasnt Apples goal to make T Swift exclusive, she just hates Spotify, for a few MAJOR reasons which Apple does not do. Dr Dre works at Apple and is very very close with many people there. Seems normal to me... Plus, Id put an old mix up at my work place too... lol.

Maybe, but fragmentation of music industry is something we don't need :(

Apple music is fine and all but the new Music app is quite slow and laggy on my IPhone 5. Hope iOS 9 can improve its performance.

one thing it didn't do well this morning, with the update, is it erased my entire music library. thank you apple! good thing i've learned from past experience with apple to have everything backed up.

LOL what a laugh I have had nothing but problems with this new music app since i updated it all my music in my library has either gone missing, or they screwed around with the artwork for my music files and they are all messed up. I cannot sync music from my playlists that i created in itunes to my iphone. if any music does carry over from my computer to my iphone its half of the songs insead of all of them. Playlists that ive created on my computer on itunes end up on my phone in the music app on the library side of my music instead of the playlist side. ITS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE Turning off icloud library on my iphone settings and on my itunes settings seems to help But the app itself is very buggy and unreliable..... OVER IT !

I just ned One thing that make Apple Music superior to Google Play Music: It's available in my country. No Spotify, No Google Play Music here. So Apple Music wins. Pretty happy that we can download/offline albums and Playlist for later listening. Not to mention the family plan is a steal!

To be fair, for #4, Google Now is also somewhat integrated with Play Music.

None of these make Apple Music better in my opinion. Not one of these is one of those things you HAVE to have. #1 and #2 are the only ones that matter and if it's that big of a deal, support the artist and buy their album and upload to Play Music. I agree with the above comment that exclusivity is bad, but I don't blame Apple for taking advantage of it. But, if you're an artist, I think you'd want your music out there for everyone to hear.

None of those matter. With Google Play, all my music and video works on ALL PLATFORMS whether they be Google or not. Apple cant make this claim. 90% of the planet probably doesn't even like Dr Dre, I know I don't and I'm dark too. It doesn't matter how longs it free, its what you get after its not. What you listed isnt better. All Google has to do is drop the price to 9.99. Google still has a huge advantage. 5M extra songs? As much as they replay songs you wont even notice which ones are missing. Also just like with the apps, Apple is paying to keep some stuff exclusive. Apple has to pay for prevention. SHAME! I like SoundCloud. FREE, has all the music I like which iTunes and none of the other services have. I have full mixes where I have music that plays for 2 hours or more, from various artists. For me, all cloud music services that require yo u to pay to hear ads is lame. SoundCloud? No ads interrupt my songs...EVER! I would never pay to stream music ai can hear free in my car. EVER! Even XM Sirius, I would never buy that. It came free for one year with my new car. Once its expired, I wont renew and pay for it. They play the same stuff I hear on the radio for the most part and what doesn't I have in my Library or I can listen free somewhere else.

Nine Inch Nails is still on google play. Figured you'd fact-check before posting. And you can start playing music through google now as well.

I dont need exclusives. Googleplay Is the best best imo, cuz honestly I have the chronic on my play music plan. If I ever wanted to kill myself and have Taylor swift on my play music I can do that too mall I havre t do is torrent whatever I want and upload it myself. It's not the most legal thing ever but if they want to play I'll play with them. Best part. On my nexus, iPhone 6 plus Andy my iPad mini, also the GPad 7.0 it all syncs with whatever I have. So Aaliyah the apple reasons doesn't really tick any box off my list.

XBox Music is on all three OS + you get One drive integration. And it costs $30 a year if you use Office 360 and buy Work and Play bundle.

This is just life Cortana vs siri/google now. The new platform just adds to what the existing one already offers.

pitiful Google Music. How old Google Music is? and it can't still accomodate many countries as like the less than a month old Apple Music. or maybe you can still defend android and says that is the beauty of android, You can still use 3rd party party app to have a nice music streaming app on android. or you just use Apple music too in your android. lol
