Windows Phone Mango finally confirmed to support front-facing cameras, Skype integration coming soon

Among 500 new features in Windows Phone Mango, support for front-facing cameras was a thing notably missing from the list of definite additions, but Microsoft finally confirmed that Mango will support front-looking snappers at its Tech Ed event in New Zealand. In addition, the company hinted at Skype integration coming soon baked in the platform, turning the OS into a great medium for video conferencing. Hopefully, this also means that new devices will also come with front cameras - a hope backed up by earlier whispers about a Galaxy S II look-alike running WP Mango and coming with a camera for video conferencing.

At the event, two Microsoft employees also unveiled Microsoft’s Lync client for VoIP telephony, which is expected to arrive on other platforms including iOS, Android and even Symbian soon. They gave no details, though, on whether Skype integration will arrive as an update or as a separate app.
