Walmart is gearing up to start selling the iPad as well?
It's almost unfathomable to not see the world's largest retailer offering Apple's latest pride and joy in the form of the iPad, but the reality of the shiny tablet gracing the shelves of Walmart stores nationwide may not be too far-fetched.

Looking way back in May, Gary Severson, Walmart's senior VP of Entertainment, informed Bloomberg that he expected to see the iPad become a reality with the retailer some time 'later this year.' Well, we're now getting close to that integral period of the year when sales will account for the year's overall revenue as the busy holiday shopping period is just right around the corner.

Most recently, Target and Amazon became the latest two big name indirect retailers, like Best Buy, to start selling the iPad. For Apple, it'll leverage the iPad's visibility to a broad range of consumers when you think about the amount of traffic stores receive on a daily basis. If the retailer is planning to have the iPad in their stores in time for the holidays, we should hopefully be hearing some official announcement very soon regarding it.
