The cute and affordable HP Slate 7 tablet to launch on May 1 in the UK
But, now that demand for tablets is even higher, HP is ready to try again, this time with Android. The Slate 7, announced at MWC 2013, is nearing the moment of its official launch in Europe, and according to HP's official webpage, May 1 will be the day when it's going to ship to consumers in the UK.
The HP Slate 7 may not be the most feature-rich tablet around, but what's cool about it is that it'll be extremely affordable at just £129. In other markets, the tablet is expected to sell at a starting price of $169. What you'll get for your money is a 7" display with a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, dual-core 1.6 GHz processor, Beats Audio and Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

It's that dreaded 1024 pixel resolution again....come on....lesser known China tablets have been offering 1280x800 for quite some time now...
Kids tablet perhaps?

Or wait 1 month for the release of the new nexus 7, quad core with maybe full hd screen for just $30 more. No thank you HP. You need to try harder next time.

The nexus 7 refresh is going to bury this tab. Hopefully every 7 incher, but this one in particular stands zero chance.

Its not even released yet and its specs trail behind the Nexus 7 that has been out for months and in the same price category. Good price but specs fall short and HP will once again fail in the tablet arena.
