Sprint's partnership with GetJar aims to offer customers over 60,000 free apps
Feature phone owners really don't get the love when it comes to apps – it's quite evident when you pick up a handset and try to find suitable applications that work easily. If you're a Sprint customer that opted to go with a refined feature phone as opposed to a fancy smartphone, you'll be happy to know that you too can join in on all the app fun going around; without all the complications. Sprint announced today a partnership with GetJar, the world's second largest app store, that will provide feature phone customers access to GetJar's catalog of more than 60,000 free applications. And if you happen to own a smartphone, such as a Windows Mobile or BlackBerry handset, you'll also get in on all of the fun as well. GetJar offers a complete library of apps ranging from games and entertainment to education and health – popular apps include Facebook Mobile, Weather Channel, ShopSavvy, and Loopt. Owners can access the catalog through the Sprint portal that is included on feature phones and smartphones – easily getting to it by clicking the link in the “downloads” category. You never know what you'll be able to find on there – next thing you know it, you'll be immersed in some game that you happen to stumble upon.

60,000 free applications...how many iPhone apps are free? Blackberry has the most expensive app store, then Windows Mobile, then iPhone then Android... This is good for Sprint customers, but when these apps require data coverage you wont be able to use them. . .VZW no data roam...
