Smart Beam cube is a $300 pico projector for your smartphone

The Samsung Galaxy Beam is a great concept phone with an embedded pico projector, but it is getting a bit old in the tooth in terms of specs and abilities. How about being able to plug in a pico projector in a phone that you desire?

That's exactly what the Korean carrier SK Telecom is offering - a 4.5cm (1.77 inches) cube weighing just 126g (4.4 ounces). The thing can be carried with you whenever you feel the need for using a pico projector, as it can beam with 35 lumens at VGA resolution for two hours straight.

Connectivity is done via an MHL port, so most Samsung and HTC handsets will be a go, there is a microUSB one for charging plus a focusing dial, and the so-called Smart Beam accessory is retailing for the equivalent of $300.
