RIM updates new Facebook app to fix bugs
Earlier this week, RIM released a new Facebook app for certain BlackBerry devices. The build number was 1.5.0.31, but once the program was downloaded onto the phone, out came the gremlins. The calendar that comes with the app thought it was the alpha software and became the default one without asking your permission (the nerve of some software code!) You can fix the calendar issue by going to Options > Advanced Options > Default Services > Reset Calendar after you have installed the update. The other problem repaired in this update is for those who manually link your contacts between your BlackBerry pals and your friends on Facebook. The software will now ask you if you would like to send an email to your friends asking for their phone number. Before the fix was provided, the program arranged for your phone to spam your friends without asking you. To get to the new update, on your BlackBerry browser head to http://www.blackberry.com/facebook. Once you get everything straightened out, give us a shout about the new Facebook app and let us know what improvements you like or dislike, and what changes still need to be made.

I find the Facebook Application for Blackberry to be pretty useless. It ends up re-routing you to the mobile site anyway for most functions so I just use the mobile site. The new update didn't really change any of the functionality or GUI. It's pretty much a waste of time.

the app does allow you to link your fb friends to your address book.... this way, you can post on a friends wall or send them a message directly from your address book (it opens up the fb app from the address book)... other than that, just very minor upgrades(bug fixes)...

What the hell are you talking about? You can: 1) Update your status 2) View and comment friends status 3) Send/Receive Messages 4) Upload photos 5) Sync Facebook contacts with your Blackberrys 6) Sync Calender (such as events and birthdays) 7) Poke 8) Post on Wall 9) New messages now go to your phone's inbox as well 10) Send Invites unless all you want to do is view videos and find out who and take those stupid quizzes, then it's gets the job done.
