Nokia announces the 5630 XpressMusic
Nokia just announced a new model for its music-centric series, the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. This is a little surprise and we are wondering if there will be anything to be announced during the MWC 2009 show next week. Nokia says that the 5630 is an ultra-slim Symbian S60 smart phone made for complete entertainment. This includes listening to music, watching of video clips and playing N-Gage games.

The new music phone uses the Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 OS, enhanced with the contacts bar for fast access to 20 favorite people and a shortcuts bar. It will also offer the new Say and Play feature, which will play the song after you say its name.

5630 will run on a powerful ARM11 processor at 600 MHz and will feature a 2.2” TFT QVGA display with 16 million colors. It will come with a 4GB microSDHC card in the box, but support up to 16GB. Also on-board is a 3.5mm jack, which is one of the must-have features on a music phone, and a 3.2-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, also capable of recording 640x480 video at 15 frames per second.

The Nokia 5630 XpressMusic is expected to appear on the market during the second quarter of the year for about 199 Euro ($260) before taxes and subsidies. It is a quad-band GSM phone with dual-band 3G HSDPA support (900/2100 MHz). Currently, there is no version announced with 3G suitable for North America.
