this is why developers should focus on Android first then IOS, who cares about windows

I think it means that they should not IGNORE android. I think they should dev for iOS first then Android. The reasoning is:
1) get it out of the way quick and easy
2) it will allow a massive build up of elitist hipster following so that when the Android version drops, there is massive whiney table flipping complaining resulting in awesome, free exposure for the app and dev, thus leading to incredible downloads on android.
3) profit.

you got a point once the iphone make it popular the people on android will go gaga for it which equal major profits like you said

That would make android users followers. They want what iPhone users have.

False. Trust me, I have NO desire to be part of the ios circlejerk.
Honestly, my initial reaction to instagram on Android was "Great, facebook is going to be flooded with even more s**tty over vignetted pictures or trees."

how many apps are android ONLY that are popular?.................ok i'll wait................................................................. EXACTLY
the smartest thing to do is what other comments on here have suggested... iPhone is "popular" make the app for iOS first then once it gains hype release it for android...

Billion dollar success...
as simple as that...
(angry birds, words with friends, draw something, temple run, instagram, tumblr... just to name a few)

I have downloaded it a few days back just for curiosity sake, after though rough usage for a day I still don't get what's the fuss about this app anyways. Pixrl o matic for example is way better than this heralded app in my own opinion. . .
